Hello! I am not quite sure if I am filling out the spreadsheet right or not.

So, in the morning I check Leo's blood sugar, give him wet food and then give him his insulin. I'm not sure how long this process is for most people but usually I don't give him his insulin until maybe 10-20 minutes after the blood check. For instance, this morning I checked his BG at 912am, gave him food, and then gave him his insulin at 922am. I was giving it to him while he was eating previously but he was getting anxious when the food was being put down so now I do it after. Last night he got his pre-insulin blood check at 848pm and his insulin at 917pm, yesterday morning BG check at 835am and insulin at 908am. Am I still filling out the spreadsheet correctly with this?

Possibly unrelated, but he also has young again dry food that he grazes on periodically throughout the day however I do try to make sure it's put up at least 2 hours before the pre-insulin blood checks. Not sure if I need to note that anywhere on the spreadsheet or not.

Thank you!

I just saw the name in your signature. So it’s less than 10% or zero carbs? I’m not sure what you’re asking regarding the spreadsheet. You should count from the time you give the shot to get the +2,+4,etc

And you shouldn’t be adjusting but 1 full unit, but 1-2 at a time. I assume since dry food is in the mix, you’re following SLGS. My recommendation would be to go up to 2.5 now but you can also post on the Lantus forum and ask them about dosage

Hm, I wasn't asking about raising his dose or anything. I have to do a glucose curve at home sometime soon to give to my vet and go from there.

I just wasn't sure how other people do it. How far apart they do their AMPS from when giving insulin etc.

I used to test, feed then shoot within a 15-20 minute window. I liked giving myself some time in case I had to retest so I wasn’t late with her shot. But I was hyper anal about the timing. Her shots were at 7:30 sharp everyday. The only variance would be if she was low and then I’d stall
