The pharmacist said to count to 10 but slowly, 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi etc in order to make sure the full dose is released. I think I was mindlessly doing it this morning and may have counted too fast because there were 2 small drops on the needle after the injection. See photo. Hopefully the photo is viewable.

Hi. I'm relatively new here and we're still struggling with injections sometimes, too.

Based on your description, most of the insulin is in the cat. Don't give a second shot.

To add an image to your post, you have two options:
  1. Insert from a URL. Click the image icon in the toolbar to insert an image directly from a the webpage URL.
  2. Upload an image from your computer.
  1. Click the orange “Upload a File” button below the post box. A window will pop up allowing you to navigate to the file on your computer.
  2. Once you’ve selected the file, you will see it under the Attached Files section. You can then choose to insert it as either a thumbnail or a full-size image. (Note: If you see a blank image, you may need to refresh the page.)
  3. Click either and the image should appear in your post (or BBcode for image insertion). If you already have an image code in mind, you can use the code to add it in.

I didn't and won't give a second shot but will be monitoring him and checking his BG throughout the day but not excessively. Thank you for the instructions.

the upload feature has been broken for a long long time. These instructions are no longer valid, sadly

The only way I know of to add an image to a post is to drag and drop it or copy/paste.

Oh, good to know! I somehow managed posting pictures in one of my posts just intuitively, without even reading the instructions, but I'm not sure I would be able to do it next time.

I guess it was a blessing in disguise that he didn't get all his insulin, his BG dropped to 82 (checked it at 11:15 am EST) we gave him a snack and hopefully it will raise it above 100 (will check again in 1-2h). 5am this morning it was 176

If you don't drag and drop, you can also open the picture you want, right click to "copy" (or "copy image") and then come to your post and "paste" it (I usually paste using CTRL + V)

To make sure all the insulin gets into the body, keep the pressure on the plunger until you remove it. There should be no drops left if you do that
