Well, we are just hanging at 9.5 units the rest of the week, hoping he stops bouncing up into the 300's at his PMPS. He is acting fine, even playing and bothering his sister, and his ketones are low, so I guess we are just continuing our very slow journey towards the right dose. Thanks to everyone who has offered advice, support, encouragement along the way- they are so very much appreciated.

Forgive me if this has been asked before (as I'm sure it has), when was he tested for acro/IAA? What about thyroid?

Has anyone asked to see your syringes, and how far up you draw the insulin?

The reason I ask is it's unusual for a cat to be this high but not having found a secondary condition. The only other time I can recall that happened was someone thought the half unit markings were full units, so in reality the dose was more like 3.5U instead of something like 7U.

He was tested for IAA and Acro last month, and came back negative. His thyroid level was fine in january when he was first diagnosed; you should be able to see his labs in my SS..please let me know if you don't, it means I put it in wrong.

I use UltiCare Insulin Syringes U-100 31 G x 5/16-in with 1/2 Unit Markings, 0.3-cc that I get on Chewy. I will try to put a photo here of where I draw the insulin to. I can take a real world picture tomorrow morning and post, I am running out to work soon and can't get one today, but these are the syringes and where I draw the insulin to. Thanks for your input

I saw the thyroid yesterday, was just curious if anything more recent.

Did not see the IAA/acro under the miscellaneous category.

And yep that's the right dose.

I appended it into my signature, but yes, you are right, it should be on the labs tab. I added it this morning. Thanks for pointing that out, folks will look in different places for that info. Thanks again!
