Hello. My name is Terri and my Louie was diagnosed December 10th, 2021. He is doing very well. I am hoping to get lots more help from this wonderful group. I am in Canada

Welcome Terri and Louie
Setting up your signature will be helpful like Kyle suggested

If you can set up your signature that would be helpful
Here is how to set up your signature
If you can fill out what we call our signature ,information about your kitty
To set up your signature which you will see is at the end of everyone's post in gray, click on your name up top and then tap on the word signature and add this information

  • Add info we need to help you:
    • Caregiver & kitty's name
    • DX: Date
    • Name of Insulin (do not include dose or frequency)
    • Name of your meter
    • Diet: "LC wet" or "dry food" or "combo"
    • Dosing: TR or SLGS or Custom (if applicable)
    • DKA or other recent health issue (if applicable)
    • Acro, IAA, or Cushings (if applicable)
    • Spreadsheet link. Please put the signature link on the bottom line of your signature information, on its own, so it is easy to find.
    • Please do not put any information about your location in the signature for security reasons. If you wish to add your country location, please add it to your profile.
Be sure to click the 'Save Changes' button at the bottom. If you need help urgently it is important we know these things at a glance. We don’t want to waste valuable time finding out information.

Take a look at mine

If you would like to set up our spreadsheet where we track our cats BG to see how the insulin is working and how low it's dropping in case you want advice here is the link , if you need help with it just ask
We need you to set up our Spreadsheet , I'll give you the link , if you need help setting it up just ask

https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/how-to-create-a-spreadsheet.241706/
It will also explain how to use the spreadsheet works
You then need to link your spreadsheet to your signature

Hey Terri and welcome!

You’ve come to the right place! It’s a one-stop shop for everything FD, resources, info, tech/equipment support, and live support from our family of members.

I was a new member too and thanks to these forums in just over a month, my cat Abbott is tightly regulated with normal glucose levels.

I know it seems like a lot right now but you can do it! Just get set up first and get all your info into the signature, along with a pic of King Louie, then we can set you up with a spreadsheet to track Louie’s
progress. From there check out the stickies on this welcome forum. Everything you need to know is there. I would start with the hometesting stuff. You
Got This!

All done. How do I attach my spreadsheet to my signature?

Ok, come back on and if I’m not around someone can help. Or you could reach back out to Chris by tagging him here or Pm

Yes please. I thought I got it but didn’t. It’s saying your signature is 80 characters too long.
Ahhh ok! So if you have successfully generated the link per the instructions and it just won’t fit because you went over the character limit, then you need to shorten the rest of the stuff in your signature. Take a look at my signature and do it like that. Then you will be able to insert the ss link.

Ok I will try that

Now do I just put my numbers on the one Chris set up for me. Not in the signature. I will really read everything this evening

What is SLGS ‍♀️
Start low go slow, we will get to that in a second.
I’m guessing you’re currently following the vets dosing? Lantus and how many shots per day? Units per shot?

Also it looks like the dates are off in the first column on your ss, you should have a daily range. Click on my ss in my sig and it should look like that

Yes I haven’t seen my vet since May. His numbers were great then and she kept the dose the same. I just recently did a curve and I’m gonna check everyday before insulin and in between that

Those are the dates I gave Chris
I am going to read the whole article how to use the spreadsheet. I am writing Louie’s numbers down for now and I will fill it all in when I know exactly what I am doing. Thank you so so so much for all your help. And I’m sure I will be messaging again real soon lol

ok sounds good. Yes if you plan on testing every day that will need to be tracked in the ss which is why at some point you’ll need to have a daily range in the first column.

Keep up the good work, it’s a lot at first getting set up but then the members here will be able to track his progress and you will have a much clearer picture. Talk soon and welcome!
