08/02 Dixie AMPS 72 PMPS 50 +3 76

I haven't posted in a long time so I have no previous thread to link to.

Dixie hit 50 during her PMPS twice in the last 11 days, but I believe that is likely due to her not wanting to eat during the daytime. She gets 3 x 30g bowls of food each in the day and night. She eats every bowl at night, but only touches 1-2 bowls during the day :(

Looks like you've been holding the 0.5u for quite a while, but only preshots tests and not much in the way of mid cycle tests. With TR, you want to evaluate the dose more frequently, particularly with some of the preshot numbers you are getting, which includes getting midcycle tests, since adjustments to dose are made based on nadirs with some consideration to preshots. It makes me wonder when I see some preshots just at 50 or like on pm of July 22nd with that 48/50 where you skipped; those indicate to me she likely was lower midcycle.

I would try a reduction to 0.25u since there are a few ways where a cat can earn a reduction, one of which is by staying under 100 mg/dl overall for a week, which she has done, and then some.

Thanks for replying. I'll grab some mid cycle tests over the next few days to see what she is up to.

I trialed her OTJ for a week last October, but she crept up to the 160/170's, so I pretty must gave up on ever getting her OTJ and just settled into the idea of her being on insulin forever. I just entered in the last few months of data into the spreadsheet and didn't even notice that she is actually keeping under 100 mg/dl now! Thank you for mentioning that. So maybe there is hope. I will reevaluate her current dose and see how she does on a lower dose. Not sure if I should get calipers first or just go for it.

Unfortunately, I accidentally bought 300 syringes without the half-unit markings... so it will be a challenge to do these <0.5 unit doses :nailbiting:
