7/29 Merlin PMPS 338, 238 @+1, 115 @+2, 63@+3, 83@+4

He is quite sensitive to carbs…some cats are. You could try 6 and if that still causes a big food bump, drop the carbs to 4.
I feel like the higher low carb keeps him from dropping fast, instead of bumping, if I can get the number right. And gradually, as the dose amount settles in, I find I can feed less and less carbs for the meal.

I think we ought to
I think he is carb sensitive, but especially so at preshot/breakfast/dinner time when the previous insulin is waning/worn off. Hence, the massive food bump. I have seen him not go up as much when it’s a little further on in the cycle (when we actually wanted to slow him down.)

We start at the higher end of low carb at the start of a dose increase. It’s just tricky to get it down without causing a big drop then a big bounce.

Yes! And sometimes he doesnt have a bump at all with the same carbs as the previous cycle, even with the same preshot number.

Excuse my misspelling! Angelica was typing that first part of the post about the carbs! I'll have to bust her chops and tell she misspelled worn. (I'm a bit of a spelling/grammar nazi). We were in the car and I had read your post when we were feeding the feral cats.... sitting there watching them eat to make sure they were okay. Then I started driving and handed the phone to Angelica to type that post while I was driving. It's just because I was thinking about Merlin and why he sometimes gets such massive food bumps in the morning and evening... so I asked her to type it. Anyway, it would be good if you can get to the point where you can feed a 4 for breakfast. Because of these huge food bumps, we can't really tell if he's broken that pattern of the big dive between +1 or +2.:confused:

What food right now??

I think you'd better test him soon. I'd like to say 20, but that will really mess up your times. If you don't care then that's okay. I'm not sure how determined he is to drop right now?
I dont know if he was going to slow down at this point, like sometimes he does, or keep going, which he also does. I dont want to get a reduction right now. And I dont want him going into the danger zone either.

Since he drops so fast after the food bump, I dont know if I want him not to have a food bump if the preshot is blue, or green. Id end up having to give him 15 or more straight away. I see that coming.
