7-17 LEO PMPS=45, 58 (27 min later) +1.25=47 +1.75=45 +2.6=49 +3.4=52 +4.3=68 +5.16=71♡

PMPS=45

Not sure Leo's ever been this low at shot time. Don't feed yet or DO feed now?

This is our normal test/feed/shoot time, so not sure what to do or not do.

Based on protocol yes you should take the reduction. 45 is a no shoot number. Did you stall 20 mins and test again before you fed him to see if he was coming back up?

Did not stall too long before I thought to feed LC mw 10%. Was hoping to see replies first, but alas
... should I test now and shoot the reduction?

Thank you!!
Tested again and Leo is at 58, 23 min later.
You have 3 choices. Skip....give a token dose...or give the new reduced dose. If you give any insulin just make sure you have plenty of testing supplies can stay up with him and have mc HC and honey or karo just in case. I dont say that cause I think he will get that low but need to be prepared. Even if you skip or give a token dose his depot will still be in play. Personally I'd id skip if it were me but I'm much more conservative than most

Yikes! I gave him a reduced dose of 1.0!! Then I saw your message.

I do have supplies on hand.

Get a +1 to see if he got a food bump. Dont over feed we want him to stay hungry sonhe will eat to help keep him up. He may just bounce from that 45 anyway.

Eta....make sure you adjust your shot time since it was late. If it's more than 15 you can move it back by 15 each cycle till back at regular shot time

Thank you. His shot ended up about 30 min later. So tomorrow morning I can shoot 15 min later than this morning?

Leo is going to hate all the ear pokes. :(

Yes 15 mins tomorrow morning then back on schedule by tomorrow night.

You may need to break out some HC if he is still below 50. Check him in 30 mins

+1.25=47
+1.75=45

I originally had the 47 at +1.5, BTW.

Last BG of 45 was almost 20 min ago..... testing again soon.

Here's the sticky that discusses how ot deal with low preshots:
Tight Regulation: Becoming Data Ready to Shoot / Handle Lower Pre-shot Numbers

You stall for 20 mins without food to see if the numbers come up over 50. If you feed, especially higher carbs, any number you get is food influenced and could drop once the carbs wear off which is what you saw tonight. You do not want to shoot a food influenced number.

"The +10s and +11s and +1s and +2s are often the “neglected spot checks,” but they can be almost as important as the nadir."
MY ERROR!!

Yup. I realized there might have been a typo when I saw the 49 at +2.6 on your title :)

So finally over 50? Can you just recap what he has eaten when?

• PMPS=45 fed LC + MC 10%
• " 58 BG (27 min later)
• +1.25=47 Fed LC + MC 15%
• +1.75=45 LC + MC (15%)
• gave 20% alone at +2.18
• +2.6=49 LC+20%
• almost +3, honey w/20%
• +3.4=52 LC
• +4.3=68 LC
He's quite full now. I think I even heard him burp.

In a few min, it will be +5. Do you recommend another BG?

Thank you!

This reduction seems like it came too soon. It's not like he was solid green, especially after what I believe was a FS. IDK.
It probably wasn't a furshot. Just a bounce. There were a lot of 50s on this dose. Maybe he dipped below 50 as well? Don't know. Anyway, considering the effort ot took to keep him over 50, the reduction was definitely earned!
