Hi all, it's been a long time since my last post. Mostly because we've been doing great and I didn't want to take up space on the board that people really needing help/advice could use.
Anyways we're close to remission, I think.

Right now giving 0.25, I do feel like I've rushed decreases a little bit, although going from 0.75 to 0.5 even though the reduction didn't follow the rules actually gave better numbers.

The reason I've been rushing reductions is we're planning to be away for 2 weeks starting on the 15th and our usual cat sitter is staying, she is great, and she spends all day hanging around the house so I'm not worried about him being unsupervised but am feeling worried about her missing a low and with him on such a low dose I think thing we could do a vacation does. So where do I go from here? Reduce to 0.10 today and then stop insulin on the 15th or keep at 0.25?

That drop below 50 today earned him a reduction to 0.10U. (He also earned that reduction from 0.5u to 0.25u). Please reduce his dose to 0.10u from tonight. Let's see what he does on it in the next couple of days and discuss what his vacation dose will be on the 12th?

Can the sitter test him or only feed and shoot? Just to clarify, she will be staying at your place with him and not just visiting twice or thrice a day?

okay reduction tonight sounds good. I just wish we’d have a few more days before we left.
Our cat sitter moves in and at least last time she was here she was home more than I am. Last time we went away we put a Libre on him, he was mostly in yellow numbers then but I also didn’t find the Libre super accurate. I could pop another on him, I also have a Dexcom that we could try. He’s a pretty chill cat so I do think she’d be just fun testing him with the glucometer. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed we can just stop insulin.

@Bandit's Mom okay right when I feel like we're on a roll and have it figured out he throws a curve ball. He's been not interested in food all day, I managed to get him to eat a little at his preshot time, but like a tsp, he usually has an ounce of raw. Today he's only had two oz total and he usually eats about 9-10oz. He might be off because it's really hot here or because of the low. He's grooming, normal litter box use. Do I skip or give 0.1?

Did you try feeding again? Or give insulin? Sorry it's been a while since the question was asked.

@Wendy&Neko I’ve tried feeding a few times and he’ll have a couple bites then walk away. I decided to skip tonights dose with his low today and being off/not eating.
Hopefully he’s back to being himself tomorrow.
