7/10 Max AMPS 179 +4 216 +7 179 +8 123 +11 108 PMPS 102

It’s hard with him because of everything going on. I have to be careful because of his IBD and food sensitivities, feed low phosphorus, watch the carbs, and find something he will eat. Sometimes he can eat something and his stomach tolerates it and other times not. He’s much better than before though.

Yes he’s eating well as long as it’s something he wants lol. I tried his Weruva turkey (LC) this morning again and he ate it, so I think he’s just getting picky since he’s been getting some higher carb food. He’s liking that lol.
I hear a lot of people say that. Their kitties love the higher carb foods and then get picky about the LC. I think a lot of our cats get picky because we offer them so many different types/flavors. It’s just something that a lot of us have to do, but it can make for picky eaters. People with cats on very restricted diets usually feed only one food but add varying amounts of honey/syrup to bump up the carbs.

I was doing that in the beginning, but Max has always liked variety. He gets tired of something and won’t eat it for a while, then I might try it again later on, and he will eat it.

It looks as though Max is clearing this bounce. I’m not sure what he’s planning to do tonight but I simply have got to get some sleep. I am a walking zombie. I don’t want to set him back but I may have to carb him up again and leave out some food for later, or give some sort of BCS. I really hate to do it. Not sure what the best thing that wouldn’t set him back too much would be. Any ideas or just wait and see @Wendy&Neko @FrostD

Kind of early in the cycle to see whether he's sliding down or still wobbling around. Either a BCS or carbing are options if it's a slide down to green and you need that sleep.

From yesterday you asked:
I wonder how much lower he would have gone without the MC and HC. How in the world did you get any sleep in this phase?
I didn't give MC ever. I gave HC if she was below 50 or if dropping and I needed her to be safe for a couple hours. She was pretty sensitive to carbs, which helped. Since I usually didn't give extra carbs, I could see what Neko's patterns were without influence of carbs. That helped me better predict what she was going to do. And also let me know if she had gone under 70. Right now you don't know if he would have gone under 70 and whether he's really looking for another reduction, because of the HC given last night. Since I could better guess when she'd go low, I'd set the alarms for a little before then to check her. And was willing to throw HC down if she was lower than I liked to leave her for more than a couple hours. I was great at power naps at night between tests. When she was on Lantus after the first SRT and nadiring earlier, I'd get a couple hour nap late in the afternoon and before PMPS, just in case.

Most of the time, it seems like Max's low action is done by the first half of the cycle if he starts in lower numbers. If you haven't given higher carb prematurely, and you see his numbers rise, then you know he's good for the night and you can go to bed.

Okay that’s good. I will try just doing LC and see where he goes. I definitely understand. I just think I get a little more anxious about night times because of what he might do after I’m asleep. I’m not great at naps but I’m starting to get used to it. I do need a good sleep tonight though so I will see how it goes in the next couple of hours. .Thanks.

Well fate decided it for me I guess. I think it was a partial fur shot. Didn’t see or feel any insulin but could smell it. I think something was wrong with the syringe. When I was priming it even before drawing up the insulin, the plunger seemed like it didn’t move as freely. I should have thrown it out and started over I guess. Oh well, we will see what happens. I’m just doing all LC.
