5/7 Herman amps 333, +5 124, pmps 509, +4 295, +6 86, …help now + 6.25 is 464 after ff gravy!!

What do you mean by the bounce breaking? Meaning he will level off? I will keep to 1.25 for todays dose. Curious if he drops quickly now.
 
Please see updated BG in title, fast drop after fast rise! A little scared! Just gave ff gravy lover 15% (normally I would karo or temptations) trying to not panic… thoughts??
 
Don’t panic. That is not too low a bg. Normal bg on a human meter is 50-120. Herman is also probably close to nadir. Check again in 30 minutes. See the 509 was the high signaling tge biunce was ending. It doesn’t always happen but often does.

Congrats on the reduction. Tomorrow the dose will be 1.0.

Omg
I tested 15 minutes later after ff gravy and it is 470…. I tested 2 minutes later and it 464. Could number jump that high from the ff gravy? Is my glucometer broken. He was very stressed by the +6 reading…..(86) reading…could stress affect it that fast?
 
Did you retest the 86 to check to make sure it wasn’t a bad strip? I think that’s most likely the case. It takes about 30 minutes for tge gravy to effect the bg. I would not reduce.

I did not retest the 86 (was barely able to get that reading) ….when I got that crazy high number 15 minutes later after ff gravy 15% carb that’s when I decided to retest as I couldn’t believe the jump. Thankfully he let me do that extra test. Didn’t even occur to me strips could be bad. I guess anything is possible. Now he’s all gravied up and testing high. What a roller coaster.
 
You can also get an odd reading if there’s too much or too little blood on the strip. Whenever you get a bg that doesn’t make sense get another test to confirm. It’s okay to wait 10 or 15 minutes after food if your cat won’t let you test again as that’s not enough time to effect the bg. With an 86 l would have been best. Everyone panics the first time and gives too high carbs. It takes about 30 minutes. If you give honey it works faster, about 15 minutes but it also loses effect faster so food is best unless your cat won’t eat. If not eating you need to put honey on the gums but only if under 50.
 
Since I got 2 high readings I will not test again. He needs a break, he’s getting quite stressed I’m testing so often and he hates it. I’ll be up at 4am for our amps. I will keep to 1.25 unless anything amis. Hoping my poor boy levels off a bit.

I honestly thought the 86 was not too out of whack, he’s been there before with similar lead up. But I since I did retest twice within 15 minutes with consistent readings around 464 whilst only giving gravy sounds safe to assume it was a bad strip.
 
On the +6.5 AM cycle, your spreadsheet should be coloured yellow, not blue. Temptations are horribly high in carbs. Just one or two is usually enough to send numbers up. Hope you don't have to give the Baytril for long.

I agree with Elise, looks like a bad strip with that 86. Hopefully he'll find those greens for real soon.

Thanks for catching that colouring. I fixed it. He’s on Baytril for another 14 days I’ll try something else again but on day 1 I blew through a few pills trying to get him to eat.
