We have been in remission since sept 2021. I have been sporadically checking his BS and it’s been good. Welllll we didn’t close the door where we feed the dog and Oreo came in and ate it all while we went out. 358. Seems like an awfully high number but it’s dog kibble. I’m a bit nervous and I forget how to use the site lol. Not sure what forum to post in. I’m going to be very vigilant that he does not get any dog food and check his BS in a few days.

It may take a day or two, but his BG probably will return to normal. However he may have an upset stomach or diarrhea from eating the dog food.

This will all pass and you're not the first person it's happened to. Our dog gets into the cat food, one cat drags the dog kibble all across the floor, another cat just appears at my feet when he hears the snap of the cream cheese tub. Our previous dog once downed a small bottle of multi-colored Tums, she had Play-Doh poo.

Little brats! Was surly easier when his back legs were weak and he couldn’t get on the bed to get to do his food. Took him several months before he knows he could jump again. Thankfully he’s back to normal with the legs. We feed 4 cats in the Florida room. Oreo in another bedroom. One dog eats in a pen and one on our bed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I checked Oreo this am he’s at 282. I’ll wait til Monday or Tuesday to check again after he’s on his strict pâté for a few days

With Hendrick newly in remission I've been wondering about accidental carb-loading and what effect it could have. I am glad to hear from folks in this thread that it certainly happens and while it will spike the BG everything should go back to normal within a few days.

Little brats is right. Lewis is a big boy who once got under the sink and dumped the entire bin of wet gooey kitchen trash looking for a sleepy time tea bag.
Coffee grounds, egg shells, pizza crusts, just disgusting. There's one way to stop that...

Yea I feel comforted in that now. It’s 100% diet controlled remission I’m just glad his little pancreas works enough to keep them in good numbers on low carb pate
