Hello!
Wanted to get some eyes on escas spreadsheet today for some experienced advice. His numbers were looking great for a few days and I was considering posting to see if we should keep holding at .5u, but today his numbers have jumped higher than what we’ve been seeing the past few days. Two days ago I almost posted concerned about a potential early AM hypo when he dropped quick and hit 67 at +3 and now this! :S

No food change, no life changes or extra stress, but it has been warmer here the past few days and I’ve noticed all my cats have slowed down on eating - not stopped or a concerning pace by any means, they’re just no longer immediately scarfing all the food as soon as it’s put down.

Is it typical with Lantus to see higher numbers randomly? I’m always sure to check to make sure his insulin actually got into him and I’m confident it wasn’t a miss this morning.
What could cause this? I’m not concerned but should I adjust anything?

I'm going to tag a few experienced members for you
I see you are following SLGS which says
Hold the dose for at least a week:
  • Unless your cat won’t eat or you suspect hypoglycemia
  • Unless your kitty falls below 90 mg/dL (5 mmol/L). If kitty falls below 90 mg/dL (5 mmol/L) decrease the dose by 0.25 unit immediately.

Your kitty has dropped below 90 seven times already , Asking members if you should reduce

Thank you! Definitely considered dropping prior to this, but we are switching to TR as soon as I read up on making the transition over, what we’re looking for etc. My husband is officially home and the plan was to switch when he got back - we were going to start tomorrow!

Was concerned about why he was suddenly elevated today, though which has me hesitating on dropping or switching.

Although now that I’ve said this out loud, I’m thinking of the posts I’ve seen speaking on how if the dose is too high it can look like it’s too low. Curious if this may be what’s happening!

Shot time in 10 mins. Now concerned about dose, unsure what to do.

edit: gave .5u again.
