I think Taz is liking less carbs after nadiring and his new dose, but I'm starting to get nervous. I'm not used to shooting lower numbers because it doesn't happen often. I've already pulled medium carb and the honey down because I don't know how much/fast he'll drop. I looked at his SS and noticed that the last time we were seeing a streak of better numbers, I was giving him Fancy Feast for his last two snacks. He appears to not like Friskies after he nadirs.

AS long as you are able to monitor you should be fine. Boris jumps down fast into dangerous numbers with lower PS, so I can understand your concern. I don't see where Taz has dropped below 68 yet using the alphatrak. I'm a little newer so I'm going to tag some of the more experience ones I see online right now.

Most of the time when they start lower it doesnt mean they will have huge drops like what you see when he starts higher. Still monitor of course cause it seems Taz is liking this new course of treatment and food now. His body is using that insulin like it should. The first few times you shoot a lower dose it's very scary. You've got this mama! :bighug::bighug:

I've shot a 109 before and a 116, but those were at a lower dose. I think we've only seen a number lower than 125 at preshot maybe 3 or 4 times. I'm hoping that we can keep him within this range and it will stop some of those big drops that Taz loves doing when we least expect them. I keep reminding myself that this is where we want him to be. It's exciting but scary. Lol

What’s your current feeding schedule? Have you gotten any tests yet since preshot? Is it time yet?

I just did a +3 and he's higher than he was at his preshot and +1. Later nadir maybe?

Right now he's eating at preshot, +1, and +2, with smaller less carb snacks at his +4.5 and +8.

Welp, today hasn't gone as expected. I think he's in a bounce.
Taz could have a later nadir today. Often my cat will get his before PMPS.
A bounce could happen if between last night's last test and the AMPS he dropped. That seems most likely based on the numbers @ +4 121 last night and AMPS 124 this am. He could have possibly gotten a green last night, which his body is not used to, and that would automatically make him bounce. See what happens between now and PMPS. Maybe he'll clear it within 1-2 cycles.

I didn't catch a nadir at all during Taz's AM cycle. I'm assuming he went up even more after +7. Should I be concerned that he'll double nadir during his PM cycle? Is that a thing? Like he'll nadir at +14 and then drop even lower because of his PM dose? I don't think I've ever seen him not nadir before.
