6/19 Merlin PMPS 360, 346@+1,310 @+2, 283@+3, 250@+4

So, Monday morning it’s looking like we ought to go back to the .1 dose… I hope it wont be like starting from scratch (or 15 days ago when we started the .1 dose) because his body will have to get used to insulin all over again. I will have to go back to feeding the higher low carb stuff for main meals, and the progression of steering foods. Or maybe he will surprise us all and stabilize quickly?…

As long as he doesn’t drop into green BGs before then, you can go back to 0.1 units.
It won’t be like starting all over again. Lots of cats have a failed reduction and have to go back to the previous dose.

It will be okay. Not like starting over from scratch! But you got a break and hopefully some more sleep.
Yes. It was nice to get 6 hours of sleep for a few nights and to be able to function in the daytime with a proper brain. So not looking forward to two-hour holdouts after HC food at 2 am. The thought of it fills me with dread.

If his cycle tonight is like last night, then you should be able to get even more sleep. At +3 he was above preshot, a sign you could hit the pillow. On the other hand, I'm hoping he breaks that bounce instead.

I think I will retire early tonight, as, on the drop dose, he has never dropped very low on any of the cycles. I have stayed up because of the late yellows, just in case. I think, at last, I will trust that I can get more sleep, if just for one night.

The question I always asked before going to bed was "is there a chance she's going to drop into dangerous numbers?". If not, then I didn't stay up just to see how low she'd go. Sleep is not overrated.

It’s just that Merlin has surprised us so many times, that it is hard to say it’s ok to go to bed now. He will just suddenly drop as we are getting ready for bed. It has happened quite a few times. It’s so scary.
