BG slowly decreasing now but have not giving him any food (after pmps/ shot time) outside two ziwi treats for the ear poke at +2. He is pretty upset with the onesie/the new libre. He eats well and asks vocally for food as per usual but sleeps mostly with no much interest in anything (outside food that always gets his interest). Ordering some belly bands which look like the kitty collar but cheaper maybe that will help (get rid of the onesie)
The prior libre area looks much better and on the way to healing nicely. Ketones =0.2 grateful for that. No water again. Also no pee since last night but that is also like his old self. Gave some chicken broth from human organic chicken can and licked a little also gave some raw chicken and put more water in the stella and chewy morsels.
I need to add more moisture to his food since he does not drink any water. I see these churu lickable treats they seem to be low carb and low calories. Thoughts on these?

Does he get food only at shot times (twice a day) or am I misunderstanding?
Watch out for the pee. He is still over the renal threshold and should want to pee more often that once in 24 hours.

He usually gets food multiple times a time but noticed he is quite carb sensitive with any food. I used to do +1,+2,+3 and +4. The more meals it seemed his BG would not go down.
Tonight I did PMPs then shot time, 2 treats at +2 and will do a snack at PM+4 in 5 min. If he gets lower I will feed the curve but for now, I have to work on les snacks and lose a little weight. but not too much too soon.
Believe me I want him to drink water and pee more than 1 time per 24 hours but this is how he is since forever. More so since he had two surgeries for urinary crystals (that was 4 and 7 yrs ago). One time he made me wait 35 hours to pee and he was fine but I was sooo not. The doctor said at least 1 in 24 hours. But this is normal for him. What I usually do in this case I take him to the bathroom, show him the litter box, and If i am lucky he will go right then. If not, he will put me through extra stress. But again, this is how he has been for over a decade. He was peeing a lot when he first got the diabetes, drinking tons of water and peeing 4 times a day. Now no water (I suspect because he has enough from his wet food) and back to 1 pee in 24 hours and I am really really lucky twice. It is very annoying. That is why I have to figure new smart ways to make him drink water.
PMPS +4 now. BG =246. He will be getting a snack and hope i can sneak in some water. Wish me luck.

It's not food that is causing his BG to stay high but bouncing. And he has yet to get to his good dose. Rather than feed him 2 large meals, you can break up the same amount of food into smaller meals and feed at PS, +2 and +4. You might have to adjust his feeding in active cycles and as he starts seeing lower numbers.

Success. Fed 2 stella morsels in water and took him to the litter box and as soon as I put him in it he did his business. Every time he does a number 1 or a number 2 I call them gifts now :) lol
Yay!

I just noticed there's 3 Henry's around here. A popular name for diabetic felines apparently.

How did he like the broth? I'm picking some up today.
haha yes welcome to the Henry's club on FDMB. He's very fussy with the broth, bored already. offered some tuna juice and nope. i have to rotate pretty often and invent some new ways for him to get more liquid.
