Black, 5/27, AMPS 144, + 6 38, +7 56

Please give that boy a tsp of high carb food now, perhaps a drop of karo or honey on top. Test again in 20 minutes. You want him above 50 ASAP.

He woke up to drink some water so I tested him again, he's at 42 now (I hadn't read your reply yet so he has not eaten). I will continue to monitor.

How long after that 38 is the 42? Please try to encourage him to eat something. If he won't, rub a drop of karo or syrup or honey on his gums. We need him up!

OK, 20 minutes shows not much change. He still needs high carb food and sugary sweetness, followed by another test in 20 minutes.

38-56 since 3:30 PST without food. However, NOW he's hungry so I'm feeding him. When he wants to eat there's no stopping him, but when he's not hungry his mouth may as well be welded shut.

I am going to lower him from 1.75 to 1.5 tonight and continue to monitor closely. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Definitely lower the dose. You might want to invest in something very tasty that's higher carb food, for the next time he's so low.

Good to see he seems to be staying above 50 now. Since you saw that big drop to +3, I might have gotten a +4 test. We don't know how long he was below 40, which can be dangerous. What + time is "lunch" for him?

That’s exactly what to do. The depot can effect the next 4 or more cycles so feel feed to feed mc or hc if he stays low tonight. If he bounces stick with lc and see if he starts to come down. Congrats on the reduction.

One more thing, please update the subject line with his latest data, so we know he's come up from 38.

The Kidney diet food from RC is 16% carbs he will reliably eat that, only when hungry. However he hasn't had it in a week since I moved him to zero carb.

Lunch today was around 12, but he had eaten about 4 times before that. He likes to graze on small meals throughout the day, working out to about 6oz of food.

So a large chicken meal at +3, then nothing and still not hungry at +6? At least he's safe now. Good luck with the new dose.

He's eaten about 3 times since +7. That's his normal pattern. He naps from +3 to +7 usually.

Also, PMPS today was 403.

Not unexpected to bounce with that 38. And I've seen bouncier. He's quite newly diagnosed so it's very common.

His bounce ended pretty quickly, AMPS 144, and +3 80 after his morning chicken. I'm a little paranoid so I gave him a spoon full of his Royal Canin Renal Diet D at +3. It's 16% carb, hopefully this prevents a sub 50 drop.
