Just curious, I know that he's supposed to earn a reduction but do I have to give him one? His numbers are good, but could be better. I'd like to see less yellow and I feel like if I decrease his insulin, I'll see more?

He did earn the reduction. By giving the reduction it doesnt necessarily mean you will see more yellows again. Now having said that yes you could hold the dose but you need to be prepared to feed the curve more and keep from going to low. Since you are slgs and not tr the issue with not being able to test and much during more active times I personally would try the reduction. You can always go back up after the week if needed. Is today your curve day?

I haven't done a curve in over a month. I was told that I test so much that I didn't really need to do them routinely. Unfortunately I've been really busy over the past couple of weeks and couldn't test as much as normal. But today is my first day of summer vacation, so I'll be home every day for the next 2 months. I should be able to get more tests in, although I've vowed not to test more than 5 times a day, unless needed.

If you're home you should move him to tr. You could get him to better numbers faster.

You would reduce lower at 67 (still using the AT right?) And if you reduce and it fails you can take him right back up without waiting the week.

If you decide to go tr I'd stop the +1 u less he is coming in low at preshot. Get a preshot test and a +2 then decide based on how he drops and when he drops most where to sneak in extra tests during cycle

I'm confused... stop giving food at +1? Or stop testing at +1?
Stop testing at +1 sorry I should have clarified. I was suggesting you could try tr for a couple months since you'll be able too monitor and can test during more critical times. A +2/+3 test typically shows more of how the cycle will go. Which I'm sure you've noticed where in cycle where the insulin onsets and about which hour he nadirs (that can move around) before coming back up
