Good morning,
Here's yesterday's story:

@Wendy&Neko yesterday you said "you have room and time for an increase". Now I'm wondering with this AMPS. Obviously he must have gone lower last night.

He is so unpredictable.

If an increase is warranted before I leave, should I go up by .5 so that while I'm away he can go back to 10u as the "holiday" dose? I know I'll have to wait until two days before I leave but theoretically speaking, if he has an increase is the holiday dose reasonable? I'm not asking for prediction, just if my reasoning is sound re: dose.
I really don't like leaving him for four days!

With the data I see, I know he gets down to the 110's lately on this dose. That's when he broke the bounce from the previous greens. We don't use preshots to determine what to dose, but rather how low the dose takes the cat. You do have room to increase. Your ability to monitor determines whether you do.

Yes, I do know that we use nadirs and those patterns rather than preshots to determine the dose but we've been talking about room for increase. I realize that you aren't recommending a specific increase but should I do so, is it reasonable to increase by 1u if I can monitor. I can do so between now and Tuesday because with the exception of Thursday, I'm around. I would then use 10u as the holiday dose.
If I don't increase, I can just keep to 10u until I come back. Is that reasonable and safe?

If you want to increase, I might try a 0.5 unit increase as you did see greens on the current dose. You can absolutely hold the same dose if you want, the risk is if he doesn't see good numbers you might be battling some glucose toxicity or those darn antibodies.

If I do increase to 10.5u would the holiday dose, for example, go back to 10u until I get back? Whatever the holiday dose is he would get it 6 times since I’ll give him insulin the morning I leave and the evening I get back.
