5-10 Leo AMPS 186| +2.5 97| +5 48| +5.4 65| +6 64| PMPS 74| +3 47| +3.5 54| +4.25 64

Was about to go to Costco and chiro appt, but tested at +5 first.....
48; fed LC mixed with 20% HC.
Not going to Costco or chiro.

>> 48 at +5 surprised me!
.25 reduction tonight?

>> Do I wait 20 min to test again?

Went ahead and tested; +5.4=65.

1?: Is it safe to leave now for two hours?
2?: Am I confusing TR and SLGS and a .25U reduction for tonight's shot?

Just put out LC for all the kitties as I'm hoping there's a reply it's safe to go to moved out appt. I hope someone replies. I took quite a fall Sunday night and didn't try to move up existing appt for today for Monday. There's an opportunity to still go later this afternoon....

He is pretty flat I'd say you could leave out a teeny bit of mc and be ok. He seems to nadir by now anyway

Thanks!

Missed my window for this afternoon reschedule, so hoping tomorrow is better. Out of the blue, he goes lime green. Is there any way to see this was brewing? I wonder if more experience would have given me a clue?

I have 10%, 15% & 20%, when needed.

Below 50 means a reduction for newly diagnosed kitties (less than 1 since diagnosis), unless kitty has proven to not hold reductions well.

I'd like to say I could answer that for you. If there is a way to predict I certainly dont know it. To be honest I feel like cats just find the worst possible timing to pull stunts like that. Sometimes there are small clues like if he was bouncing when they break the bounce they tend to go lower in that cycle that bounce breaks. Sometimes if they're higher it can be before a low.

Thanks! Still learning! You are very likely correct, but I was not confident enough to do that.
BTW, our other two kitties love it when Leo is beyond his need for MC or HC and they get to eat the leftovers. Yay, so almost 1.5 oz each! Gobble, gobble. :cat::cat:

So keep on at 1.25U for tonight without a reduction.

Did I read to reduce if there are three instances of under 50? I end up opening many links under TR and lose where I find info. TR since, 2/23, and I still have questions at times.

Had a dose reduction 12 days ago, 4/28 of .25U after a +3 of 47.
How is today's +5@48 different?
Just trying to understand the circumstances.

Yes reduce this PM. He's been holding his reductions. The rule for newly diagnosed cats who hold reductions is either one drop below 50 or one week in mostly green.
There's a link I didn't have bookmarked.
Might want to go back to the New to the Group Sticky Note and see if there are other links there you want to read now.

I must have misunderstood some of the comments about NOT taking the deduction. I thought the deduction is in order since Leo is only on this journey four months. SO I grossly misunderstood. Yay, for the deduction.
THANK YOU.

You can give a mix...he has nothing to prove. He earned the reduction and it will take a couple cycles to adjust depot anyway

Thank you.

Since I wasn't sure, I fed him LC, and then I received this message. So I prepared AF with the 0 spot with a mix if LC & HC, but the remaining three spaces only have LC. Should I mix in some of the HC in some or all the spots, and not just zero? Sorrry so many questions.

Does he normally eat every couple hours throughout cycle? LM goes between 3 and 4...but he always gets a +1 and +2 snack then its +5 to +6 and a +9 then preahot

Grrr. AF moved to a fresh spot while I went to the bathroom. When I returned to the kitchen, one of the other three was eating it. Not much left now. Leo did just eat some before it moved, but a fresh spot will not be open until three a.m. If I add more for Leo's behalf, no guarantee he'll get it if he wants it.

There are often uneaten food in one or more spots! That always surprises me when there's a lot left over. Especially with the other two chow hounds.

BTW, Leo has gained over 2# since the diagnosis, change of food, and the insulin. He was soo skinny! 11# now.

Sometimes LM leaves an uneaten space. He is ok...as they become better regulated they dont need as much as their bodies are using the food better for energy instead of it being burned up almost as soon as they eat with uncontrolled diabetes

When I first got the AF, I asked on the FB group about what times are recommended at night... I don't recall getting a very clear reply. I'm curious now what was said. I would go look for it, but I really better go to bed before it's time to get the other bowls picked up so there's nothing for Leo to eat between 6-8. AF moves to an empty spot.
