I was looking on Mark's Marine Pharmacy and it looks like the Lantus Solostar pens for pets (Glargine) is still around $110 to $170, does that sound about right? It's so confusing as it seems like there is many different kinds and I have no idea what I'm doing.

You can also get Basaglar which is a biosimilar of Lantus that will save you a little more too. 5 pens is 1500 units which is enough to last most cats at least a year and some up to 2 years!

Try this discount card for basaglar put your zip code in , it looks like the price are for one pen, call them and find out

I would also call around to see who has the best price for the pens, call your grocery store pharmacy to also see how much it is
Lantus will probably be more expensive so see if they have basaglar or gargline

I would also get them from marks marine 5 pens of basaglar

I bought 5 pens of the generic insulin glargine, Basaglar, from Mark's Marine. I chose the extra insulating package and cold packs, total came to $169 I think. So in the end I paid $33.98 a pen.

Best deal you'll find I think. HOWEVER it didn't ship for 2 weeks and then took another week or so to arrive. So I would ask them how quickly it will ship and then how long to arrive after shipping. I suspect they screwed up my order and it should have shipped much sooner because after two weeks when I emailed them to ask why it had not shipped yet, I got a shipment notice within an hour. Felt like they had an 'oh #$%' moment

here is my order

Note the quantity says 1, because is it ONE pack of FIVE pens.

I recently ordered from Marks Marine and was told the Lantus pens had a 8 week delay in shipping due to production issues and that Basaglar pens had a 2 week delay due to demand. My order shipped in the two week time frame but US Customs took a full week to process the order. Marks sent out an email recently saying to expect delays since US Customs had closed one of their facilities and now everything was being routed through LA. I did not opt for the extra packaging since my area of the country is still quite cool but will next time. I had one bar on the temperature sensor but fear if I had ordered in the summer it might damage the insulin. If anyone needs insulin from Canada , I'd order earlier than usual.
I will second recommendation for ADW. Good prices, fast shipping and they always seem to have a coupon code for a decent discount.

pretty much my exact experience with Marks and ordering Basaglar, except I did pay for the extra ice packs and cooler. Mine also had one bar on the temperature sensor thing, I called Mark's about it and they said it meant a slight exposure above 77F and the insulin should be fine. And it is. From ordering to arriving at my door was just over 3 weeks.

Ok.. Her ProZinc is 6 weeks old this week. I am a bit worried waiting 3 more weeks for my order. Should I get the Pen from Walmart and then order the 5 pens for future? And can you please show me how to extract the insulin from the pens? Her PMPS was over 600 tonight and she's going to give her mama a hear attack!

it's easy you just use it like a vial, turn it updside down, stick the syringe through the rubber gasket and draw out the insulin into the syringe. I'll post a pic
