That's her bouncing from the lovely string of blues. Let's see if she clears it today. :)

Oh, they will get bounces when they stay in blue? About how long will it last? Sorry for the noob question, just trying to understand how this works.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. That's what we are here for. :-)

"Bouncing is simply a natural reaction to what the cat's system perceives as a BG value that is "too low". "Too low" is relative. If a cat is used to BGs in the 200's, 300's, or higher for a long time, then even a BG that drops to 150 can trigger a "bounce". Bouncing can also be triggered if the blood glucose drops too low and/or too fast. The pancreas, then the liver, release glucogon, glycogen and counter-regulatory hormones. The end result is a dumping of "sugar" into the bloodstream to save the cat from going hypoglycemic from a perceived low. The action is often referred to as "liver panic" or "panicky liver". Usually, a bounce will clear kitty's system within 3 days (6 cycles)."

So basically, a cat will bounce from any number that it not used to. Bouncing can also be triggered by numbers dropping very fast (even if they don't drop too low).

94 at PMPS? Can you test if you shoot? With TR you can shoot any number over 50, if you can monitor.
Sometimes stalling without food can cause numbers to drop further.

If you can monitor, shoot! Do not fill her up. Feed some of her food at +1 and +2.

It possible this might be her nadir and she might go up from here like she did the other morning.
104 is within meter variance of 94! :-)

Ok, so I feed her like 80% full then give her 1.25units? Yes, I'm able to test.

I thought that the nadir is somewhere near the middle of the cycle. I guess she is different o_O

Yes. Give the full dose. Test at +1 and feed a little then.
Have given her the full dose and will be testing her at +1. She sure likes to give me heart attack! :nailbiting:

Yes. Usually a Lantus nadir is between +4 and +6. But some cats have earlier or later nadirs. And nadirs, tend to move around. They tend to be later in bounce breaking cycles and can be as late as at the end of the cycle.

Hahahaha! Soon you will get used to shooting low and find greens addictive and not scary!

I sure hope so! For beginner, it's really scary! But am grateful to have joined this message board as everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks again for all the help! :bighug:

Her +1 is 117 and have fed her some food. So I supposed I test her again at +2?

She is surfing nicely. Will she eat some more?

Btw, do you want to think about advacing your shot time so you are not up so late at night testing?

She just gobbled up a tbsp of rehydrated Stella & Chewy Freeze Dried Raw food as she refuses to eat anymore FF pate. She's most probably bored of eating the same thing every hour. o_O

Her shot was supposed to be at 9am & 9pm but was delayed due to the stalling past 2 days. Yup, planning to slowly shift her shot earlier by shooting 10-15mins earlier per cycle.

I most probably will have to stop testing her now and get some sleep. Will set an alarm to test her again at +7.5 or +8.
