4/5 Buddy AMPS 358, +3 394 +6 212, PMPS 192 +2 130 +3 84 +3.5 90 +4 76 +4.5 97

Hi Patty, looks like he is clearing a bounce and you might see an active cycle tonight.

A +2 should give you a good idea. You might just have to test and feed every hour like the PM cycle of 4/2.
Stay with LC. The normal range is 50-100 on a human meter.

Slightly panicking as this is our first green. He just finished another 1/4 of lc after his +3. Should I check his blood every 30 min? At what point would you give them fancy feast gravy and karo ?

Sorry, Patty! Just seeing this. You are doing great and he is seeing safe greens. You can wait till +5 to test.

There is no need for higher carb. Stay with his usual LC.

I had gotten the karo syrup in the syringe already :nailbiting::joyful:
Hahahahaa. We have all been there! If he will eat a spoon more of food at +4 or +4.5, that will keep him surfing the greens.

Btw, what do you think of following TR rather than SLGS? You would be able to hold this dose and he would be able to spend more time in normal healing numbers.
With SLGS, he has earned a reduction back to 1U.

I will give him more lc at +4.5! Thank you!
Wow a reduction already...I will read up on TR now and let you know! I have only briefly scanned the TR info.

TR is a more aggressive protocol with increases as often as every 3-5 days. Reductions are earned when the BG falls below 50 mg/dl (on a human meter). The aim is to keep the cat in the range of 50-100 as much as possible. This is the normal BG range for cats as also the pancreas healing zone.

With SLGS, your goal is to get nadirs between 90 and 149. This is more suited for caregivers who can't test very much beyond preshots and a weekly curve (and some spot checks).
