04-01 Leo AMPS 146/+3 102/ +6 104/ PMPS 132/ +2 153/ + 4 120

Hi Joni, I see you've stopped testing after +2? Are his ears bothering him?

Going by the 50 point dip at +2, I suspect he might be going much lower later in the cycle.

+2 will be done in about 50 minutes!
His ears are not looking great. I tried last night's +2 and this morning's AMPS with a smaller guage lancet, #30, and it worked!

If you can't get too many tests, you might want to get some tests later in the cycle on some days. Mix it up. +3 on some days and +4 on others etc.
The idea is to see how low the dose is taking him.

Great idea. Thank you!
I know there was more testing as Leo approached 50 or under, so now would be a good time to mix it up as you described.

Is this morning's +2 still a good BG test interval?

ETA: I just dabbed some more Ledum on his ears while he napped. I used last few times Argentyn 23 gel.

It's possible he is dipping to the 50s later in the cycle. Like he did in the AM cycle of 3/24. The dips at +2 indicate that he is going lower. Maybe quite a bit.

How about a +3 for a change?

OK, +3 today for a change. Thank you for the feedback, Bhooma.

I told my neighbor about you, Sapna, since she's Indian; raised in Zimbabwe. She didn't have time the other day to talk as she was about to go to work (teaches children at a school called Kumon). She's not crazy about pets, though one of her sons has a cat! Turns out my daughter and that son went to the same high school and in band. There's more to the small world before we moved into the same neighborhood almost 10 years ago, but I won't bore you!

My crystal ball is mot working I guess. Good news is even if green later it should not be a late night.

I am near the end of the Semglee pen.... it was opened 1/9, so maybe it's losing potency?

Or, if 1.25 isn't enough, how about 1.375U?
Ack! Carolyn in the FB group was going to show me how to use calipers. I've just been on 'go' mode and need to circle back around and see if she is available. I was upset, and still concerned, that syringes are off. I have several that do not plunge to zero. ADW offered no solution when I complained.
Do you use calipers?

I don't think the insulin has lost its potency or that the dose isn't enough. It's possible that he is dropping lower later in the cycle and bouncing from there. I would get some later cycle tests to see how low he is going before increasing.

I use calipers. They really help to ensure that the dose in consistent. A good number of syringes have inaccurate markings but they are not significant enough to affect humans or even dogs which is why nothing is being done about it.

Here is the sticky on calipers. It also has a video on how to use them.

I agree with Bhooma. Just a couple days ago you were seeing lime. I used calipers and would have been lost without them. The lines on the syringes can be off a lot. With calipers you get more consistent dosing.
