3/31 Taz, AMPS-195, PMPS-109, +1-100, +2-77, +2.5-79, +3-107, +5-165

Sorry to hear you are unwell! They really pick their times to drop low!
If you shoot can you get a couple of tests before bed?

With a history of ketones, it's good not to skip insulin.

Great! Then shoot the full dose. Test and feed every hour. If you can't stay up too late, you can always feed higher carbs depending on the +1 and +2.

Thank you! We've seen green a couple of times over the last couple of weeks, for the first time since January. I feel bad that I didn't test him today but I figured after he was in the mid 100s yesterday, it would be ok to give us both a break for a day. I was thinking he was due for another increase.

We took his reading in the ear we never take it from (he hates his right ear touched) and it was 109. We gave him his meal and as he was eating it, I took another reading in his regular ear thinking the first one was a bad test. The second one was 128, which was about 3 minutes after the first one, after he had food in his system. Not sure how fast food changes glucose?

Thank you again. I'll post his +1 in an hour. I'm getting more confident with his numbers, but it's still scary when I'm faced with something unfamiliar.

It takes 20 to 30 mins for food to influence numbers. What you saw was just meter variance it is common dont read too much into it.

I'm so sorry you've been sick!! Taz is really looking good!:bighug::bighug:

Good to know! Taz dropped a little for his +1, so I'm guessing we might have an active cycle? We need to feed low carb for now, right? I know I've asked this before, but if we're using an AT2, at what number would we start to use medium carbs and high carbs. Just in case.

With the meter variance the +1 really different than the pmps.

So with at...68 is you number. Below 68 is a reduction.

Looking at ss he doesnt seem to be a huge diver at +2...you could do a small LC snack now check at +2.

@Bandit's Mom just to make sure I'm giving good advice

He is still within the normal range. Below 68 on the AT is low. Since it is early in the cycle, you could also give a little HC.
So test every 30 minutes? Or hour at this point? He "usually" nadirs around +3, but that's been kind of off lately.
