It's been over a month since she started the day so low.
I've been thinking about going back to SLGS, since she is so hard to regulate, maybe a day-to-day approach was better, after all? @Bandit's Mom , if you want, can you tell me what you think? Thank you for all your comments, you are helping me so much :-)

It's not the amount of tests, we're fine with that now, me and her. It's more the fact that the dose is ajusted more often.

I just realized I did not do her shot this morning. Just found the full syringe. What should I do? Just wait until 7 PM and do her PM shot, or do one now but that would mess up her schedule? we're 6 hours after the AM shot time.

Wow. Just the depot has seen her through half a day in great numbers.

Just shoot at her PM shot time. This is a good opportunity to move her shot ahead, if you want to do so. So that you aren't up too late getting tests. That is provided you are a morning person and can get up early. :-)

Hi Cecile and Miss Bella!

Just popped in and saw that you were thinking of backing off TR and going back to SLGS. Please don’t give up on TR so soon, it looks like you’re making great progress!!

Have a look at Gus’ spreadsheet (both 2021-22). We started off with our vets dosing advice (slooooow increases), then tried SLGS for a few weeks but we saw the most progress in the last 3 months on TR.

I know that when we started getting up into higher doses, I was hesitant but Bhooma was really great to talk me through and I’ve learned that ‘A cat needs as much insulin, as a cat needs’ the sooner we got to that breakthrough dose (from glucose toxicity), the sooner we would start seeing more progress, and we sure did. Switching back to SLGS will only set you back, it’s almost a step backwards.

Gus and I are here rooting for you! Keep up the great work :bighug:

Thank you Bhooma and Kim :)
@Bandit's Mom and @Gus the Furminator
It's funny, I was just looking at Gus's chart this morning. OK, you convinced me, i will keep trying with TR. I don't think I can move her shot earlier yet, maybe later this summer, but we just changed time and it's as early as I can get up for now. I'm curious to see where she will be tonight!
Yay!!! Successful virtual arm twisting ;) lol

I had my shot times at 6/6… I would get up at 5:40am and test/feed/shoot then I’d go back to bed for 2 more hours (depending on his AMPS # - if it was in the 50s/low 60s no more sleep for me) and then I’d test again @+2 to see what he had in store for that cycle.

This time gave me the chance to be up for his nadirs (well that was the plan … but Gus always had other plans and liked a late nadir…) but if I had a later shot time… I would have never slept, at least with the 6pm I would be able to get to bed at 4am when he was up partying all night.. my little party animal… lol

@cecile & bella You want to mention in today's comments that you forgot to shoot. In case one of us wonders why there was an NS today :-)

She might be higher for a couple of days because of the missed dose. Don't lose heart. The fact that she was in such good numbers for the first half despite no inulin today is progress!

Yes, I was thinking that might be the case. At least today i will sleep without worrying she might be in hypo. :) She's full of energy tonight, she was playing and running around. And hungry.
