Hi everybody!
just wanted to drop in and tell you Gizmo is officially two weeks OTJ today. I don’t want to convince myself it’s over for good, but it seems like it’s over for now. She’s happier and more active than she’s been in years. I’m so thankful that we were able to get this under control. @FrostD can tell you how many nights I spent worrying her to death in tears. I’m so grateful to have my kitty back. She was such a good girl over the past few months, and as a lot of you say, our bond was strengthened in a way I never knew possible.
I don’t know if anyone recalls the story line when I got here, but I can tell you that none of this - and I mean absolutely none - would have been possible without you all. The advice from the vet was the exact opposite of what got us here. They wanted no testing, feeding twice a day, dry food, etc. I remember many times in my life having questioned a vets advice and getting on a forum, only to learn that the forum was dead and nobody was active. This is the best community I have ever come across. You guys put in so many thankless hours to help people in our position, and I sincerely hope that you know how much it’s meant, and how literallly life saving it is. A month ago, I wasn’t sure she would make it.
big love and hugs to you all. Special thanks to a few folks who, if nothing else, let me know someone was out there thinking of us. All of you went above and beyond @FrostD @Suzanne & Darcy @Diane Tyler's Mom @Hendrick's mom and dad @Lisa and little @Katherine&Ruby
Here’s a little video of Gizmo enjoying a new box, shaking her ass, and eating a tiki stick this morning. Pardon the horrifying singing.
Xoxo
Rachel and Gizmo
PS: I will still be around - I want to continue to pay it forward in whatever way I can, even if just by simply encouraging others.
