Ruby made a gigantic poop last night. @Diane Tyler's Mom, thought you should know. :p I was getting really worried there for a while about needing to give her an enema. It was soft, but very big. Her BGs didn't really seem to change as a result of the elimination. So all of my theories about constipation causing higher BGs may be wrong.

Meanwhile, my civvie Olive who has possible IBD has been having diarrhea for the last two weeks and is losing weight. Am biting the bullet and starting her on Z/D kibble when it arrives from Chewy to see if that improves her situation. Cerenia keeps her vomiting at bay but ondansetron has no effect on her, so she is not nauseous and exhibits no signs of pancreatitis. She is not due for another ultrasound and GI panel until July. Giving her hydrolyzed kibble goes against everything I know about feline nutrition, but I am willing to try if it gets her to eat and thrive.

Hope everyone had a good day. :bighug:

Oh Katherine, you sure have your hands full! Sending vines and prayers. :bighug:
Thank you, Elise, for the sympathy. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like not to live in a constant state of worry and cat health management, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Both Olive and Ruby are sitting on my stretched out legs on the bed as I type, huddled and peacefully grooming each other. They make my life so good. I have to do the best I can for them. ❤️

Hi Katherine, yes I love to hear about when Ruby poops
Here's what I call their poop when they go
Medium/large. Is called a Blow Out
Extra Large. Is a Master Blaster
I know I'm a sick human being :p
I'm glad she went.
Now I'm going to worry about Olive!
I hope the kibble helps , if it helps her to eat then you have to do what you have to do
Keep us updates on how Olive is doing ok :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Oh gosh. I hate those situations where you feel like you have to give your cat something that goes against everything you believe and have learned. I worry about the weight loss and the low protein (or should I say not high quality protein) in the Z/D. I did have a cat that ate it years ago. It was all they offered me to feed him (the vet, that is, their only advice) and prednisolone of course. He did fine on the food (probably the pred, right?) I guess I mean "fine" in that he didn't lose weight and he thought the food was teriffic! In fact, all the cats in my house thought that food was great and tried to steal it. I remember this because it was expensive and I was always trying to keep them out of it. Are you sure you want to wait until July? What about testing out the food and if it doesn't help then move the appointment up a bit sooner? Where will you feed Olive and where Ruby -- to keep them apart with different foods. How is Olive's appetite? You will see her drinking a lot more water. This must be stressful for you. I'm sorry.
