Hello everyone. I have updated Marie's spreadsheet for the last few days. We have now been OTJ for almost 13 days. However, I am seeing more numbers just slightly over 100. Is this cause for concern? She is eating quite a bit more than she had been but it is still low calorie wet food only. I think she finally realized that is all she will be getting. Given her recent BGs is there anything I should be doing differently? Also, she grazes/free feeds throughout the day. Should I still make sure to take the food away two hours before I test even though she has not been receiving insulin? I just want to make sure I keep her moving in the right direction but I'm kind of in a gray area where I'm not sure what I should be doing. Thank you for any advice!

Can you grab some tests here and there a few hours after she eats? If her pancreas is working BG would go down. I'm sure it is working, just might help to see some midcycle

I wouldn't do anything else just yet, give it a few days and see how things go. Shes probably not giving you quite enough room for even a drop dose right now but let's see

Thank you for your response. Yes, I can definitely try some mid cycle tests tomorrow and in the next few days. Just to clarify, do you mean that I should remove her food two hours before her cycle time, test, feed, and then remove her food again for a few hours before testing again? She is free feeding due to her kidney issues so I want to make sure that's what you were saying so I don't mess up. Thank you!

No, what is meant is to do what you are doing now, then around three hours after the main meals get another BG test to see if the BG has gone down. If the pancreas is working, the BG should go down after food.
Don’t change your normal routine for feeding.

Thank you for the clarification. I will start that today.
