Glad I didn’t do a BCS, it’s bad enough from the bounce. Max is going late this afternoon for a repeat GI panel. He will be fasted for six hour prior to it so he can’t eat after AMPS +4 until after his labs. The first one was six months ago when we found that he had pancreatitis. I’m curious to see if he needs to be getting B12 shots. He’s had his breakfast and a snack already and will have one more snack before he fasts. Hopefully he will clear this bounce soon and this new dose will be okay. Yesterday https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/2-16-max-amps-327-3-168-5-69-6-86-7-63.259438/#post-2914854

If anyone is around, @FrostD @Bandit's Mom @tiffmaxee @Wendy&Neko @Marje and Gracie Max is doing another one of his dives today and I'm sure its from the old depot at play. I didn't do a BCS because his BG was so high this morning. Max is scheduled to get a GI panel today in about 3.5 hours from now (amps +10). I got the last appointment so I could fast him for 6 hours for the lab test as instructed. The problem could be that he is fasting now and his BG is still dropping. It's hard to figure out when he nadirs because it's at different times it seems like. I gave him HC instead of LC at +4 which I normally would not have done, but I wanted him to stay high enough so I wouldn't have to cancel my lab appointment again. Do any of you think he will be okay with no food until after I can get his labs done this afternoon? He will not be able to eat or I will have to cancel. Should I just continue to monitor and see what happens or go ahead and reschedule his labs again and feed him?

Hmm very hard to say. I think just keep an eye on him, and if you have to feed and cancel then so be it. He's not dropping so fast that I think he'll get too far ahead of you, I'd just test every 45 mins or so if you can. Bring food with you too just in case?

Thanks for replying Melissa. I think he’s slowing down now and will be okay unless he does something crazy (you never know with Max). I will keep monitoring him and maybe we will make it today. I can take some food with me.

Nice new pic of Max! I think you'd be OK not feeding, just keeping an eye on him and taking food with you. Good luck with the vetty appointment.

Thank you Wendy! He did fine. He’s way up there now from stress. Poor guy went through something though. First, his rolling carrier turned over when I got him out of the car. (It’s a pet carrier with wheels like a carry on suitcase), then there were a bunch of dogs barking in the waiting room, then on the way out one of the clinic cats that live at the vets office, went up to Max in the carrier and popped him in the face with her paw! Poor Max. He’s happy in his bed now sleeping off the stress.

Paws crossed for good results on the GI panel. Poor Max! After a visit or two like that for Neko, I covered her carrier with a towel so nosy critters wouldn't bug her.
