yesterdays post

Gave a 1/4 tsp in her low carb at +2.

Im so happy that her numbers are slowly getting better.
I know she is probably due to have her dose raised but because we are heading to the vet today so I wanted to wait... her BG sometimes sometimes drops at the vet.
She might hit green today so I will probably hold her dose for tonight and maybe tomorrow then see what happens there.
..... Or do whatever you think I should do:D

Did she get some 14% at +1? Or have you stopped that?

Let's hold the dose for today and see where she goes. She would have gotten to green on 2/13 if not for the 14% at +3.

Good luck with the vet visit!

Good luck at the vet.
She did great... as soon as they put that muzzle on her face she is so chill. She has lost 3lbs since last year but still a good weight (11lbs) they said. Blood work should be in tomorrow so I will add it to her spreadsheet once I have the resuts. I checked her BG right before we left the vet to make sure she was ok for the ride home... she was at 74 at +3.5

It always amazes me that some cats’ BG drops at the vet. Max would go sky high and then he would have a pancreatitis flare. How fast did that weight drop? You might want to get a digital baby scale to weigh at home because quick weight loss is not safe for cats and can lead to fatty liver. You don’t want that complication. Did the get tell you what her ideal weight should be?

She lost the 3lbs in 18 months. I do notice she feels lighter when she has a bad week or 2. I think she is probably as an ideal weight, she has a big frame. Her weight definitely fluctuates quickly with her numbers. I think she feels kinda bony in areas because she lacks muscle mass... she kinda has that senior body look. I have to update my signature.. she is now 15.
He did say she seemed a little dehydrated but its hard to tell because she has a lot of loose skin from when she was bigger in her younger years. Her urine also looked a little watery so Im curious to see her kidney function in her bloodwork. She does love water added to her wet food so maybe its becasue she gets so much liquid.

ohh cool, I didnt know that. She is just eating right now but I will check in half hour or so after she done and laying around for a bit. Thanks.

Pm- did the routine of a bite or 2 of higher carb 9% at +1. Hoping she slowly drops into the greens in a few hours.

You weren't able to get a test after +3.5 in the morning? Would have been interesting to see how much lower she went.

9% at +1 is working out well. She also dips a bit between +2 and +3. After you have some data, you could see whether she needs a mix of LC and 9% at +2 as well.

I didnt bother with more testing because she was catching up on her sleep after the trip to the vet. Usually her Nadir is +5 so I just kept a close eye on her.

I do sometime mix the 9% in her LC. She pretty much gets low carb whenever she wants.

OK. It's useful info to know how low a dose is taking her because dosing is based on nadirs.
