2-13 Leo AMPS 166/ +1.75 84/ +4 61/ +5 66/ +6 101/PMPS 479

It’s ok! Don’t beat yourself up. It’s better to keep him in these numbers, rather than skipping and then he gets very high. It seems like you could transition to TR easily, you are capable of shooting below a 150.
Maybe for now, write on a post-it what his token dose would be and what number he would have to be at for you to comfortably give said dose? That way when you get between 150-200 then you can have it there as a quick reference?
Hope that makes sense…

Actually, I am glad you shot the full dose, that was the right thing to do. If you read the SLGS guideline in dealing with lower than normal preshot number, it says "until you collect enough data to know how your cat will react". And the part of the SLGS guideline that you are thinking of regarding options when you see preshots between 150-200 also says "There's no hard and fast rule, but if you don't have data on how your cat responds to insulin..."

You've shot similar numbers before and were able to gather data to see how those cycles went. Again, it is a guideline particularly for newer caregivers who do not have enough data. You can gradually think about shooting at even lower numbers, provided of course that it is over 90 if you are following SLGS.

That said, since you haven't seen a blue preshot in a while, I'd probably see where Leo is at around +1 or +2. I appreciate you are doing SLGS, but even with this dosing method, catching a before bed test helps to fill in the missing pieces. When you only test during the am cycle, you are only getting half the picture. A before bed test last night would have been interesting - it is hard to see whether he was still dropping down to this morning's preshot, or perhaps he had a lower number last night, and may be starting a bounce this cycle, which is why I'd see about getting a +1 or +2 and go from there depending on the BG number(s) you get.

Thank you for mentioning all those details!
I only have 12 after PM BGs, so I see what you mean. @tiffmaxee suggested I should consider TR recently, but when I vocalized concern being able to keep up with this mode of testing and not getting my personal health issues flaring up (MS), so this is all new to me with Leo, I also started having plantar fasciitis (left foot, early Dec '21). It's all been a challenge, for sure. Soooo, my heart and mind thinks TR is the way to go, but cam I keep up?

Lastly, somehow I ended up getting so late for the 12-hr interval, that after hours BGs are even crazier times. Leo is usually around 9:45am & pm, but this morning ended up at 10:05 am! Eek. Someone slept too late this morning. o_O

Thank you! How to quantify or determine a token dose? Skipping a dose doesn't sound good to me either.

You are doing very well, all things considered :). Well, interesting +1.75, that earns a reduction to 0.5u for the next shot. Can you feed a couple of teaspoons of his regular food, and test again in 30-45 minutes? He's still doing fine, but I'd like to see him flatten out a little now, since there's still a lot of the cycle left to go.

Would be nice is Leo could get regulated, but I know that's what we're all striving for, albeit, remission!

+4 61!
Of course, I gave Leo food.

ETA: I'll get a +5, too.
