I guess you can save the skip for the night, if he indicates he needs one.

For what my two internet cents are worth, given my experience with diving off the dosing scale, you can always take the insulin back up. At some point you go cross eyed and delusional from broken sleep and that's worse for everyone. Granted, Mr Kitty is an acro cat that started treatment, but Gus is still behaving similarly. He's telling you something is happening. Go with your gut...you can see I was halving doses left and right and he was still ahead of me.

If I had to pin the tail on the donkey, I suspect 0.75-1U will be good. I think you still have some larger depot. But like I said, can always take dose back up, can't take insulin out. Need to get something shootable twice a day

lol.. Now that I’m awake of course I’m going to come back to this and say well played, Bhooma… very convenient that your ‘friend’ should call at the time of Gus’ shot after lasts night convo … :p:joyful:;)

Just bugging you, of course! We had a plan and the number was a bit higher than the last 2 NS and the unit was lower. So it was much easier of a call to make

Alright! Game plan for tonight if he keeps flat, is 1u again - unless he throws me a curveball. I doubt he’s going up by PMPS, and if he’s much lower, I might entertain a NS or drop dose

He’s 74 @9.75 with LC all day

I make no promises! ;) lol.

It’s so funny and I bet this happens to many, especially on TR. I hated testing at first (so did he) but now I have this urge to test all the time (Gus not so much - but he’s so good!!) … I just want to know what his little (chubby) body is doing. But I need to learn to take advantage of these times for both of us.

70 @4.75 - will grab a +6 or 7

I’m hoping that he continues to do well on this dose.. and if not.. I feel much better moving back up the scale cuz clearly 3, 3.25, 3.5 (along with that sneaky depot) was just too much for him these last few days.

I know when we are consistently on a dose and get a reduction, the bigger dose depot is still at play for another 4 cycles, right? But with the wonky dosing, reductions and NS … any ideas/thoughts on when we might see this 1u working on its own (does that makes sense?) or do we just need to play out the days and see how his numbers go?
 
With all the skips and the different doses in the last 4 days, it is anbody's guess where the depot is at. Let's stay with the 1U for now unless his numbers start trending up. After 4 cycles on 1U we can pretty much be sure that the depot has rebuilt. 6 cycles if one wants to be extra-safe.

I was actually thinking he might head lower not higher. Paws crossed.
