It's Neverending. I'm leaving on vacation next week and I cannot get her regulated. I'm not sure if she's bouncing or ProZinc just isn't working
 
Jeni can you go and edit your title above and put the date first 2-10, whenever you do a new thread please put the date,

Look to the right you will see it says Thread Tools tap on that , you will see edit title
put today's date first then hit save

If you plan on switching over to lantus which is a good insulin you will need different syringes. Do you have any idea when you might switch

Where do you live, lantus is experience in the US but we can tell you where to get it much cheaper

I live in US. I won't be switching until after my vacation, I leave next Wednesday for 8 days. I worry about not being here to monitor with new insulin.

No problem, we can talk about it when you get back, who is going to test and feed her will they get some tests in during each cycle?
Where are you going , somewhere warm I hope lol

My sister will come twice a day to give her food and insulin. I'm have a libre attached as she refuses to test her otherwise (I don't blame her)
We're heading to Cabo, Mexico for 8 days. I'm really nervous to leave Kaia, I would cancel my trip if my husband would let me :)

I just saw this on your SS. If you want to you can show your sister how to post here if she needs any help. Just make sure she leaves her plenty of food out.
Does your sister know what BG numbers to watch out for if she drops low
I would be nervous too, but try and have a nice time
Is the Dr Elsey's CP dry

Yes, she prefers the dry for some reason (she has hardly any teeth left) I have an auto feeder for +1, +2 and +3
Most her teeth FELL out. It was weird. So they pulled quite a few that looked loose. She has only 1 canine left.

OK at least your sister will just have to fill the auto feeder for both cycles
In your signature can you just add DRY to the Dr Elsey's so members know
Do you know how to do that ?

Vet insisted on fructosamine test. I told them it wasn't needed as ive been home testing. I just gave in... whatever. Her teeth look good, ketones good. Doc was out (nurse visit) so didn't check for UTI. Asked about Lantus. She said it's an option they can look into (and cheaper in Canada) but as a diabetic herself, she said Lantus really burns.

They also suggested when I get back to start 4 units

She gained a pound. She's at 10 lbs

Yes lantus is cheaper in Canada , we can talk about where to get it later.
I have never heard anyone say lantus burns, I have used it on Tyler since 12-30-19 until remission which was 1-24-21

We also have a supply closet here , members that have lost their kitties will sell lantus for a really great price, I have bought many lantus pens from their , you would just ask them the expiration date on them. 5 pens could last up to 1 year,
With a pen you would just stick the syringe in the rubber stopper and draw out the insulin from there. We do this because if you use the pen that has the needle on it you can only increase or decrease by whole units, with the syringes with the half unit markings you can increase or decrease by 0.25 units.
I'm glad she gained a pound,teeth looked good and ketones good , what did you do take her to the vets today?
If and when you do switch I would ask the members here what they suggest starting her on.

Lantus burns at higher doses, so yes at human doses it can sting. It started to sting Mr kitty at about 9U so I switched to Levemir.

See how she does while you're gone. You can try to increase to 3.25U tomorrow if you'd like, if you can keep an eye. Those greens a few days ago make me wonder, but right now she needs more insulin
