Today is Day 7 on this dose and largely in green. Assuming she stays in greens today, you can go down to a drop dose tomorrow!![]()
It's the easiest dose to measureTy. Bhooma. How do I measure a drop dose?
It's the easiest dose to measurePush the plunger of the empty syringe in fully, keep it pressed and insert in the pen. Let go of the pressure on the plunger and it will draw a drop. When you insert the needle into Haley, push the plunger and count to ten if she will let you!
I think it's because it's so tiny a dose, you want to make sure it leaves the syringe! I may be wrong.Just so I learn, why do we have to count to 10 when we don’t with a higher dose?

Yes exactly why! That why when using a pen you need to count to 10nto make sure it leaves syringeI think it's because it's so tiny a dose, you want to make sure it leaves the syringe! I may be wrong.

Rainbow meant when you are using a pen and pen needles to give insulin. Rather than drawing insulin from the pen/vial into a syringe to shoot.I’m using a vial. I assume it’s the same reasoning?
Yep same reasoning...sorry I may not have been clear.I’m using a vial. I assume it’s the same reasoning?

Yep same way. Push plunger all the way in hold it pushed insert in vial let go of plunger. When you inject hold plunger down and needle in haley for count of tenOk. So, how do I measure a drop using a vial. The same way?

I just started with the drop dose too. If you don't hold the plun
If you don't hold the plunger, the drop will suck back into the syringe. I practiced a bit with it before I tried it on Wesson. First to see that it actually grabbed a drop and then to test holding the plunger down and see what happened.
If you haven't ordered the calipers yet, you may not need them if you're just giving a drop dose.
Ty, Paige! Wishing Wesson the best!
I definitely think she’s going OTJ again. Have you done a drop dose in the past? I was just wondering because of the discussion about calipers. I have heard of people inserting the syringe into the vial/pen while depressing the plunger and then letting go. This is one way to do a drop dose. I’m sure calipers are more accurate.
Good luck with the drop dose.
