It's possible but I think the numbers may reflect a "bounce." If you look at Leo's SS, every time he drops into blue numbers or below, his numbers jump back to 300 or over. When a cat drops into low numbers or into numbers that are lower than what he's used to or the numbers drop quickly, the liver and pancreas can release a stored form of glucose along with counterregulatory hormones that cause the numbers to spike back up. It is truly annoying for us but is a protective mechanism for your cat. It can take up to 3 days/6 cycles for the bounce to clear. The more time your cat spends in lower numbers, the less he will bounce and the quicker the bounce will clear.
