I increased her dose today to 2.25 units. Still running high. But did notice a much sooner nadir.
She is so particular with food. I did get several containers of sheba in her and she really liked it.
She nor my other cat really care for the friskies. They will eat FF but I really have to push it on them.
I am going tomorrow to get more sheba. And I placed a chewy order for several packs of it. She really likes the freeze dried treats and will come a running when I shake the bag. She really does look much better, she even played with some toys a little bit today.
So do I just stay on this dose for the next week?
 
Are you still testing the urine for ketones?
Because she has had ketones we can increase the dose quicker than normal if needed. If you can get some ketones tests in that is helpful for us.
I would stay at this dose for several days to see how Kloey goes.
I will tag @FrostD because she has used vetsulin.
 
Let's hold it for 3 days and see where she's at. The early nadir could have been a fluke or meter variance, but with Vetsulin it's something to keep an eye on. Sometimes as you increase dose the curves become more V-shaped and you lose duration, neither of which we want.

Please tag me at the end of day 3 so I can take a look at her data.

I just checked her BG 125 @ +4. What do you think?
 
That's the new dose working! And why i said to wait a few days, a 124 doesn't leave a ton of room for an increase. Can you test again in an hour? If not it can wait til tomorrow, just want to see if the nadir is consistently coming earlier.

We'll also want to think about using food to manipulate the curve but let's see the data for a few days

BG 85. I am giving her some of her food

I'll check her again in about 10 minutes.
I gave her a bit of fancy feast pate. She had some left from earlier and she ate all that, maybe a 1/8 of a can and I added new FF and she ate maybe an 1/8 of a can.

She has earned a reduction in dose with the 85 and 83 back down to 2 units.

It was 12 carbs. FF grilled. Should I check her again, or do you think she will continue to come up?

Thank you so much for walking me through that. I probably would've a wreck if I didn't know I had someone for backup. You all are amazing.
I will definitely go back to 2 units tomorrow. She was fine the whole time, but she did eat well, kind of scarfed it down. So she probably knew and felt like she was dropping. Again thank you so much.

Rechecked it was 132.
 
Sorry I didn’t get back to you….got caught up elsewhere.
After a kitty drops low and you give some high carb food to bring up the BG, always check again as the high carb food wears off and if you don’t give some low car food, the BG can drop after an hour or an hour and a half. We suggest testing for a couple of hours after the last high carb food is given.
