had a chance to test at +2.5 so I did it -- 313. Definitely a graceful descent...not much descent at all though. Looking like a pretty flat pink day despite the increase

Welcome to the wonder of bouncing :).

Bouncing - is simply a reaction to what the cat's system perceives as a BG value that is "too low". "too low" is relative. If a cat is used to BG in the 200s, 300s or higher for a long time, then even a BG of 150 can trigger a "bounce". Bouncing can also be triggered if the BG drops too low and/or too fast. The pancreas, then the liver release glucogon, glycogen and counter-regulatory hormones. The end result is a dumping of "sugar" into the bloodstream. *Usually* bounces clear within 3days (6 cycles).
 
realized today that I've pushed air/any overdraw back into the lantus pen a couple times, didn't even know not to do that. We were shown how to administer the insulin by our vet and they didn't mention it.

we ordered a new pen just in case of silicon contamination. Better safe than sorry!
 
He got to 95 on that pen yesterday so it's still working. Usually when a pen goes bad it's a gradual process.
