So when I got home from work there was quite a lot of food left over. I was a bit concerned. Tested him and his number was good. I cleaned out the 2 bowls and gave him fresh FF tender liver and chicken. He ate well so I have no idea why so much was left over. I have 3 cats and still had a bowl and 1/2 left over. Makes me wonder if it was the food.

Hi Sue. We are doing good. How have you been?

I have a friend who had a diabetic cat. My husband told him about Teal'c so the guy messaged me on Facebook. He said he wanted to learn more about feline diabetes and that he had found out from Bobby about Teal'c and how I care for him. He said his cat was on Prozinc but that since he was now on a fixed income he was getting Monte Novolin at Walmart for 20 some dollars. I told him not the best insulin for his cat. I told him about Lantus and how I get it from Mark's Marine Pharmacy and how long it last. Then I told him about testing. He said he could not see him testing Monte. 2 weeks later Monte had a seizure and died. I'm pretty sure it was a hypo event. Scared me since I still test but hadn't kept track for awhile. So I'm back.

Situation with work is worse now, I've been lucky that Teal'c is smart enough to eat when he goes low. Because I'm gone to work a lot. I have 7 12 hour days in a row this week. Sorry so long. I'm glad to know you are still here.

We're doing just fine! Luci is sailing along with her usual self - sometimes she has the zoomies and we're still at it with insulin and testing after FIVE years! I never thought I'd be able to say that! But Luci figures it's business as usual and as with all things, she's in charge of how things go around here. I live my life in 12 hour blocks...to serve HRH (Her Royal Highness)...

Still working remotely so my days are somewhat hectic and if it weren't for that kitchen timer I'd probably miss a few tests myself!

That is awfully sad about that fellow not being able to get a better insulin for his kitty :( It's sad too that he wasn't able to participate in any group that could have pointed him to help with that - DCIN from the FB group is a wonderful resource as they help with supplies for those who are unable to purchase the basics. There's also the Supply Closet here on the forum - often kitty parents are offering supplies for the cost of postage or minimal - sometimes that's a good way to get insulin when money is tight. He may not have been able to afford MM...or possibly couldn't get the Rx? I feel badly for him...

So I hear you...we have to be diligent with our kitty-care routines, otherwise the unthinkable could and still does happen to these poor babies.

Sorry you have all those 12 hour days - sure plays havoc with the insulin schedule, but at least something is better than nothing and adjustments have to be made to the best of your ability! I know you're doing the best you can for Teal'c (still love that name!) Mr. Movie Star!

Good seeing you guys on the forum again ... I really need to post myself...just get so caught up the day gets away from me!
