01/22 Blaze PMPS/358, +2/180, +3/112, +4/72, +5/79

My reason for trying fattening is the big dips under 68 and you being at work. I was thinking maybe he would not drop as low. I know you tried it at one point unsuccessfully but he’s had such good nadirs and then you need to reduce as he drops under 68. Either increase is fine as we don’t know what he will do. Blaze needs to learn to cooperate a little bit more.

Yes absolutely agree 100%.
I am not sure what type of pancreas he has but it's like it's joking around with us.
I am at a loss of words.
I look at other kitties spreadsheets on here and bang my head against the wall :banghead:.
Tonight I will go back to 1.25U and see what happens.

One thing you could do is feed slightly higher carbs at the beginning of the cycle to try and be able to give him 1.25 and not have him drop low at +4-6.

I am gonna try and mix and put some in his usual one. Henis so damn picky though. His sense of smell is way to acute and as soon as he smells something different or questionable (in his perception) he walks away.
Gonna try though tonight's cycle.
Will give updates

Blaze is not interested in eating tonight. I am trying everything. His breath has been really had too lately, not sure if it is the Cerenia. My gut is telling me it is and that I need to give him a few days break. It seems he is hungry but he barely eats.

I think it’s time to get ondansetron. I haven’t heard of bad breath with cerenia. It sounds like it’s not helping his nausea. When were his teeth last cleaned?

If his breath smells there’s a chance he needs his teeth cleaned. Will he let you look in his mouth?

Oh yes twice already since August. When he came out of remission that was the first thing i asked the vet to do. Last time he checked it was 1 month and a half ago. He said his teeth were fine

That's very interesting...! Maybe that's it but I plan on taking him to the vet soon. I want to get a full senior blood profile and check his organs function and teeth again.

Sorry, Paola but I am not familiar with Blaze's history so I'm gonna ask you lots of questions. Many things can cause foul breath, with bad things going on in his digestive system being one of them. My kitties have GI disorders and their breath is terrible. Why is he on Cerenia? It can cause constipation, and that can lead to bad breath. Has he ever had an ultrasound?

Thats ok! He is on cerenia because he has recurring nausea and vomiting that make him struggle to eat. He has never done an ultrasound.
I would ask the vet during your appointment to see if there is a possibility he might have IBD. Those are nausea and vomiting are classic signs of some intestinal disorder, and getting it under control with a diet change to some novel protein like duck, lamb, or pork may get the inflammation under control and get you some better BG numbers. Sadly this is how I figured out that Ruby has small cell lymphoma.

Is he primarily eating fish? Fish can be inflammatory.

I will definitely ask the vet about this, thank you! He does eat primarily fish, yes.
Sorry about Ruby :(
Thank you. :) We're doing ok. She's on prednisolone to keep a lid on her inflammation and she's in remission for now, and I've had to increase her insulin to battle the effect of the steroid, but she's eating well, gaining weight, and her BGs are well regulated. The steroid worked like magic for her. We were really close to remission but that is out of the question now but we are cruising along just fine after the initial panic and shock about her diagnosis. Most intestinal diseases are very slow, so if you catch them while the cat is fairly young you can get a handle on it.

Once he starts to feel better I would try to wean Blaze off his addiction to fish and see how he does. How old is he? Your signature says he is 8.
