01/10 Molly AMPS 122

Have a good busy Monday, Adrienne.
I made an appointment for Molly to see the vet. Her appointment is January 29, I prefer the vet that knows her. Anyway I sent him her spreadsheet to look at. But should she have a glucose blood work done? or just regular blood work? I'm kinda concerned about Molly's bowels. She's not going every day just every other. But its a good poop when she does go. She's still eating, playing, purring. Maybe I'm overacting? @carfurby tag you to have your advice also. I've been giving Molly clearlax ( Miralax) daily and started the pumpkin.

If something seems off, it's a good idea to get her checked. You do enough testing you don't need to pay to have her glucose checked. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I would not pay for any glucose testing. Frequently, depending on which blood panel they will run at their lab, it may already include a glucose number (a lot of them do) but I would not have anything special added on to her lab work. You already have more data than anything very useful they will get from a lab, which will be a one-time number for glucose (which will likely be high anyway from vet stress). Now it is a good idea to get her checked over. If she has chronic constipation then the vet should be able to feel it in her colon. She's still going every other day, so that's a good thing, I think (while you'd probably like her to go every day). If she hasn't had blood work done for a while it would not be a bad idea to get a basic CBC and chemistry done and possibly also a urinalysis so you can get a good idea of kidney function in conjunction with the blood work (and it could rule out things like protein in urine, show you specific gravity for kidney function, etc.) Just my thoughts on it. Sounds like she feels pretty well though. How's the pumpkin going ... is she eating it? You're a great cat mom!

Okay, I think I'll just get normal blood work. They have to blindfold her when the do urinalysis. She pees on the vet . She gets pretty stressed going to the vet.
I hope it's nothing serious, and hopefully she poops today. I try to be a good cat mom!

Oh Poor Molly. She really does get stressed, doesn’t she. Some people give a dose of Gabapentin before a vet visit if their cat is super high stress.
