? 01/06 Eddie AMPS 175 +2 182 +7 185 PMPS 259 +2 229 +3 175(Hmmmm...)

So, we're @+2 182. Could someone remind me of why there's an increase after insulin? I may have asked this before but I'm a bit sleep-deprived this week...:cat::rolleyes:

They eat food after the preshot test is taken. And depending on when onset is, the insulin may or may not have started lowering the numbers yet.
That’s makes sense except for the fact that I really make an effort to ensure the preshot test, feeding and giving insulin are at the same time every day. I guess the point is that his system and the onset work on variables rather than constants. So one day (or more often) the BG lowers while another day like today the onset varies and the BG increases. Does that make sense?

Typically you take the preshot test, then feed and shoot. Carbs from food takes 20-30 minutes to go from the plate to the blood stream. And until onset, the insulin lowering effects of the previous dose are wearing off. So regardless of whether you fed or not, the numbers will still go up unless onset has happened. Neko's Lantus onset was later, so +2 never really told me much.

However, the other possibility for a higher +2 is a bounce in reaction to however low he went last night. I suspect he went lower than 160 in the 9 hours between that +3 and the 175 at AMPS.

@Bandit's Mom

Hi Bhooma, just wondering what you think/see in this current trend. Started out blue today and stayed there for a bit. Went into yellow @PMPS 259 and +2 229.

Are we surfing or are we getting interesting? I imagine you'll say get a +3???

Thanks, Bhooma!
