1/3 Ares AMPS 147, +2 128, +5 102, +8.25 132, PMPS 168, +2.3 146, 6.5 198

So I do have 2 autofeeders. They have the 5 slots, so i can set for 4 different times.
I havent been using for overnight because I just dont know what to set them for, i go to think about it, and for some reason i just get confused.
and, i am afraid sister Maggie will eat all Ares food, but maybe if i set one up for her too, Ares will have enough time to get to his before she scarfs everything down in the house (ya, she inhales her food)
Any ideas on what times?

I also have a 5 slot feeder and lately I've been only setting for his +9 snack both am and om cycles since he has run lower and I'm checking and feeding based on his numbers.

I use it more often when I have to be gone then overnight unless he is flat and or running high and I can go to bed earlier

Generally I set for times he is normally getting a snack either during day or overnight

Fyi I only feed a +9 cause he gets hangry mad at preshot if I dont.

that is a great idea, Ares gets flippy at AMPS too
think ill set at +9.5-10
and then ill try to estimate when he is lowest and set one for that.
This actually helped me big time just from you saying what you do, thanks Rain!

Glad I could help...estimating lowest may not always work...I try to stay general since nadirs can and do move around. One thing I've learned is that it is a certain way until it isnt LOL...

Like I said mainly use for when I'm gone and also overnight for the +9 and other times if I get to go to bed early. Just experiment...I've had to start feeding my civvie small meals like LM cause she wants to eat each time he does as well...sometimes every hour LOL

So the thing about feeding later in the cycle, I wouldn't do it unless nadirs are later in the cycle. Think of insulin as you being in a car heading towards a stop sign. After nadir when the insulin effect is the strongest, the foot is off the gas and the car slows down (insulin effect slows down). If you add carbs after nadir, it's like tapping your foot on the brake, and stopping the car prematurely. Or shortening the insulin duration. Meaning you can end up with higher preshots. Not sure I've explained this as well as Jill did to me. But the basic idea is that it's best to do most of the carbs while the insulin effect is stronger. If you are feeding late in the cycle and seeing numbers zoom up towards preshot, that might be why.

I did give Neko a +9 snack, partly because she's chew my hand off if I didn't :p, seriously though, +9 in the AM was when dinner was before FD so she really wanted food then. So I gave in and gave her a small mostly zero carb snack. It wasn't as big a deal for her numbers, because her nadir was often around +9, or even later when she was on Levemir.

i guess i will make the best guess where he will be after i get a couple numbers tonight and feed during lowest, then maybe wake up and give him small snack at +9. well, i dont know cuz i wanted to get a +7 tonight anyway...lol
Ares gets crazy at AMPS because he so hungry.
Thanks all!

He may be just bouncing from the low greens he saw yesterday and the night before. Bounces can take 6 cycles to clear. I would give him another day (or two) to do so before deciding that the last reduction didn't hold.
