I had a rude awakening by the low glucose alarm on the Libre. Said he was at 53. Checked with human meter and Libre was only 4 higher (not 50 like last time he got low). Gave some HC. He's up to 109 now and has been there for an hour now.

Is his dose too high? Did the late shot on NYE mess things up? Any thoughts as to what happened and what we do from here? He is due for his shot is another hour and 1/2 but think I will skip it until I get some feedback. Why is he going low at +10? Scary night for us and I am exhausted.

Hi Paige,

He was 53 at +10 on the Libre and 57 on the human meter? And 109 at +11 after feeding HC at +10?

No, 49 on human...53 on Libre. And yes, up to 109 after feeding HC at +10.
OK. He has earned a reduction with that drop below 50. I would mention the 49 @+10 on your SS and shoot 2.25U tonight.

When was the last meal? HC at +10? Don't feed. Let's see the +11 and PMPS.

+11=126 and I just checked him and he is at 156 now. Last meal was the HC at +10. His shot should be in 1 hour. Scared to do it after going so low.

He will eventually bounce from the lows he saw. Can you monitor him, if you shoot? If yes, I would shoot the full 2.25U.
Do not feed. We want a PS that is not food influenced.

Is your SS correct? Your profile says you are in Arizona? How is your PM shot due in the morning?

When we started we did noon and midnight. On NYE we got home 1.5 hours late which pushed us into this crazy schedule which has caused a few other problems with the shot schedule. Should I just skip and get us back to a normal schedule for the AMPS?

You have been moving the shot time by 30 mins every day to get back to your original schedule, right?

ETA: If you skip, when would you shoot your next shot? It's 4:20am for you and guess your shot is due at 5:30am?

No, have not started moving it back. With our schedule lately it has been moving later, not earlier, since New Year's Eve. Trying to keep him as close to 12 hours apart, so the shot keeps moving later.

OK. So the PM shot which was originally midnight is now around 5am or so? Super confusing!

I have to step into a yoga class for an hour. I would shoot the full dose of 2.25U at PMPS of he stays over 50. He will bounce at some point, so you don't want to skip.
See you in an hour.

Yep, you got it! Never should have started at the time I did, but that's what happened. And then life got in the way and here we are. I am going to delay the 2.25U until 7AM. He is sleeping and not interested in any food.

Rather the delay 2 hours, I would suggest you delay it by 30mins and continue to delay it by 30 mins every day till you get ot the time you want to shoot.
You would still be shooting your PM shot in the morning though. LOL.

Any tests after the +11?
