Agreed the bounce highs are definitely lower and last a very short time. I'm happy and feeling more and more confident that I can handle whatever he throws at me...

While I would love to see a reduction number that one does still concern me some as I'm not sure what to expect that low with him...asymptomatic or symptomatic??

It's possible that his pancreas are producing some insulin which is contributing to the downward momentum that bounce clearing cycles see anyway. He is not falling to unsafe numbers so don't worry about it.

You could try feeding the mix of 4% and 9% at +2 (rather than later in the cycle) to slow him down a little.

Might try that...thanks! I know it isnt unsafe numbers but I know such drops are harder on him to some extent. I'm not like panic stricken just concerned...cause like all of us here he is my baby LOL
 
Ok he is coming up I didnt feed and he came up with out food a little. Feeding LC now and left some in feeder like always since I'll be gone...I'm sure he will be happy to have me stop poking him for a few hours
 
I can definitely look at those numbers and tell right away that he’s on Lantus - without looking at your spreadsheet or signature. He really knows how to dive. If you switched to Levemir you would most likely get some much flatter cycles (in a good way). Anyway, you are getting to be such a pro at handling him! Good job.

I thought lantus was a more gentle insulin we started on vetsulin.

Thankyou for the compliment I'm really trying here! It's a little nerve racking....I know once he can stay regulated and stable we will be good just trying to get there

He's been on insulin only 2 months and is slowly flattening out. Not as many pinks and yellows. He needs a little more time on an insulin before deciding he needs a different one. :-)

Yes. Vetsulin is just so short acting. Drops them down then they shoot back up. It’s a good insulin for dogs.
