Bama did not want to eat his PMPS FF, I think because I made the mistake of adding the psyllium husk powder to the first couple spoonfuls instead of waiting like I normally do and adding it with the pumpkin. Therefore, we are back to, "Mom is trying to poison me." He would eat his kibble just fine but did not want to eat the FF, even some from the same can that didn't have the p. husk powder in it so I ended up throwing out the rest of the can and opening a fresh can of a different FF flavor for AMPS which he ate along with some kibble. Tricked him, though, I mixed in the psyllium husk powder with some water and his beloved Squeeze-up and he ate that. Go figure. Maybe Squeeze-up will be my new medium for add-ins. I'm ready just a mixologist in disguise.

Bama seemed restless overnight, wandered around a lot. I guess he was hungry. I gave him his PM+8 snack and tested early at about +7.5.

On a positive note, I placed an order on ThrivingPets for needles and venosets which they will apparently fill without a prescription. They won't ship prescription items to Alabama or a small subset of other states so I couldn't get fluids from them. Chewy does appear to ship the very same fluid packs my vet has but needs a script. They apparently will call your vet to get all the info needed. I plan to call my vet today and ask them to approve daily fluids and tell them I'm ordering through Chewy. We'll see how that goes.

Question for anyone who has done or currently does sub-q fluids. Do you ever reuse a venoset with a new bag of fluid or do you always use a fresh venoset with each new bag? @Bandit's Mom

I know the importance of using a fresh needle. I always install the fresh needle as soon as I'm done with the sub-q session so it is ready for the next session. Thanks all!

Good luck! I hope he will he will approve it.

Tanya's website says you can reuse a venoset once, which is what I do. I change venosets every 2 bags.

Re-using Venosets (IV Sets)

Most people change the venoset every time they change the fluid bag, though some people use them for two fluid bags. If you use the venoset for two bags, switch the line to the new bag as soon as you've finished the first bag, making sure not to contaminate it.

Bama has slept all day. Had to wake him up for his +2 & +8 tests; while he ate a little at +5, I had to wake him up to feed him. Then he wouldn't get out of his bed. I had to leave for a couple hours right after the +8 test so I left food out which he totally ignored because he slept the whole time. He did finally get up when I got home @ +10, had a poop, and was ready to eat at PMPS. He ate well which was a relief. I was getting worried about him. I don't think he slept well last night so maybe today he was making up for it. Maybe, too, he was resting up to go swimming in the lagoon later tonight. I hope he waits until morning. I didn't sleep well last night and did not get a nap today. I really need my rest tonight.

Nice day on the beach, Bama! I wouldn't read too much into a day of napping, especially if he ate heartily this evening. Sometimes Ruby won't eat unless I bring her bowl of food to her and then it's like she remembers that she is hungry.
