Bama did not want to eat his PMPS FF, I think because I made the mistake of adding the psyllium husk powder to the first couple spoonfuls instead of waiting like I normally do and adding it with the pumpkin. Therefore, we are back to, "Mom is trying to poison me." He would eat his kibble just fine but did not want to eat the FF, even some from the same can that didn't have the p. husk powder in it so I ended up throwing out the rest of the can and opening a fresh can of a different FF flavor for AMPS which he ate along with some kibble. Tricked him, though, I mixed in the psyllium husk powder with some water and his beloved Squeeze-up and he ate that. Go figure. Maybe Squeeze-up will be my new medium for add-ins. I'm ready just a mixologist in disguise.
Bama seemed restless overnight, wandered around a lot. I guess he was hungry. I gave him his PM+8 snack and tested early at about +7.5.
On a positive note, I placed an order on ThrivingPets for needles and venosets which they will apparently fill without a prescription. They won't ship prescription items to Alabama or a small subset of other states so I couldn't get fluids from them. Chewy does appear to ship the very same fluid packs my vet has but needs a script. They apparently will call your vet to get all the info needed. I plan to call my vet today and ask them to approve daily fluids and tell them I'm ordering through Chewy. We'll see how that goes.
Question for anyone who has done or currently does sub-q fluids. Do you ever reuse a venoset with a new bag of fluid or do you always use a fresh venoset with each new bag? @Bandit's Mom
I know the importance of using a fresh needle. I always install the fresh needle as soon as I'm done with the sub-q session so it is ready for the next session. Thanks all!
