HI,
My cat Bella has been on Insulin (2 daily prozinc) for 5 days now. She eats, but does not have her usual appetite. Since being on insulin she sleeps more. She does react to me talking to her, but she is not "roaming" the house as usual. Luckily she drinks less due to the insulin, but also poops less. Anyone have the same experience. I see her cleaning herself, but not as much as before. She has a disability on one of her hind legs and she wobbles a bit more. I have talked to my vet who encourages me and states that is is a slow process at the beginning.

I give my boy & my other 2 kitty's 1/4 tsp of mirilax 1x a day & it helps them all to have bowel movements, I started out with & 1/8 of a tap just put it in there bowl add a dab of water & mix it into there wet food. They gobble it up!

Thanks, that's what my vet said as well and I ran out and bought some.

What are you feeding her? That could have something to do with it as well.
She is on prescription diet, urinary SO for bladder stones. No change to the diet, she just eats less and moves around less. My vet said that it's her adjusting to the insulin.
Thanks!

If she is eating less, then it is natural that she would produce less poop. That may be the only problem.
Do you have a spreadsheet with her blood glucose numbers since starting?

Oh, but if giving Miralax, start with a very small amount like 1/16 teaspoon once a day, and increase from there slowly.

Do you know what the percentage of carbohydrates is for that food?

No, that's something I have only read here. My vet had not instructed me, but I'll do it anyway. Thanks for all the tips!
