Holy cow! Sorry very busy morning...sick kid, the cat, you know how it goes lol

Hope he comes up a bit with that food and syrup
 
That’s okay I completely understand! I have never seen him dive this fast so it’s freaking me out. I’ve given him a lot of syrup. I’m sure way more than he probably needed. Getting ready to check again in a few minutes.
 
Since he is comfortably over 100 and later in the cycle, I would test 2 hours after the last time he was givem MC/syrup to ensure he stays up after it's worn off.
Don't feed.

He’s usually slow to respond when trying to get his BG back up….so just hard to know. So I don’t know if he’s already bounced or if this is from the MC and syrup. @Wendy&Neko @Bandit's Mom

All data is good data ;) I'd have predicted a bounce anyway so we'll see at PMPS
 
So I guess I’m supposed to go back to 9 units. Almost 1 hour to go before PMPS. Not gonna lie, I am kinda nervous about whatever the night holds, going by what he did today and how much food and syrup he had. I guess we will see.
 
Good catch today! Remember that after a reduction, a one time BCS is an option. Since he didn’t actually go under 50 and was in (barely) safe territory, I would leave the choice to you based on what works for you tonight.

I might have to do the BCS as much as I hate it. He has had a lot of syrup today. It took a lot. I just don’t know if his stomach can handle anymore of the MC and syrup if he started diving again! If I do the BCS, is that half the dose? After that he goes back to 9 units right? @Wendy&Neko
 
Yes on the reduction. Size of BCS is what works for Max, typically 1/2 to 2/3 of dose. Try one and see if too much or too little.
 
Well I’m a chicken. I may be a stupid one but oh well….I’ve shot way lower numbers but what he did today was crazy. If I hadn’t caught it there’s no telling what would have happened.
 
Summer I certainly do appreciate all of your support and always have! I just have a lot going on and I usually only get on long enough to ask a question or if I’m in need of help. I would never be disrespectful and not appreciate encouragement. Life is just hectic for us right now. I’m very sorry if I’ve offended you in some way.:( It was certainly not my intention.

Lori, people are so very different around here. Please don't feel bad. If offending someone is only liking instead of responding back, well I offended a lot of people. Plus, some people have ten minutes to hang around, while others spend hours here. There can also be a whole lot of chatting and friendly conversation unrelated to feline help.

Me too. I have probably offended lots of people, although I do hope not. I sometimes think I am too pushy with people when their cats are ill. Don’t worry, Lori. Today you had your hands full with Max. This has happened before - even when you have not only had Max diving and grandchildren all around.

Lori, I don't even expect a "Like" from busy folk. I don't think how you are currently responding should offend anyone. Personally, I don't like it when people clutter up their posts by copying something someone says that has nothing to do with any current issue at hand. Our posting guidelines ask that chit chat be limited, so that those of us trying to help don't have as much stuff to read through to get to the issues needing the most attention. Lori, I personally think you show a great balance in responses.

I think I am worrying about three of my foster kittens being transported to Maine for adoption (we have had them for 8 months and love them so much) and my FIV kitty, Marcus, is having surgery on his ears on Friday for skin cancer on his ears (white kitty.). So I haven’t slept well.

Lori you are focusing on taking care of Max, which is what you should be doing. You do a great job taking care of him. I don't respond to posts in Furball's thread very often. I don't expect other people too either, especially on a busy day like you've had. I'm glad Max came back up for you. I hope the BCS shot will keep him surfing safely tonight and tomorrow. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

For the record you've not offended me either. I take a Like as "hey I've seen this, noted, I don't really have anything to say back...or I'll get to it later". I personally have too much going on with kids + family + cat + the forums here that I'm lucky if I can get 5 uninterrupted minutes to properly reply to something. Often times I intend to come back and reply later but forget

I think everyone takes digital correspondence differently, and we all have to recognize people like to give and receive communication in a certain way. But I think that's better suited as a private conversation.

I was once taken aside by a woman who worked for me because she thought I was upset with her because I didn't start my email replies with "hi/good morning/afternoon" and hadn't had a chance to ask about her family in a week or two...I didn't realize that was what she liked/needed at the time or she felt it was rude!

I guess my BCS wasn’t needed but anyway, sleep is always a good thing. We will get back on track. He has bounced to the moon. I would have worried after today’s events.

If only a like is an offense, then I am the number one offender on this site!
Not everyone has the time or energy to deal with everything happening in their lives and respond to every comment! Those who want to offer genuine support would appreciate that.
