12/11 Oberon AMPS 378 (0.5 R), +2 338, +4 272, +6 221, +8 212, PMPS 291 (dose incr.), +3 361, +5 359

You really help keep my attitude better with the way you manage the IAA Oberonigans .... lets me know that Minnie is not the only one with mysterious color changes in the wrong direction. :)

All I can do is follow his numbers (and use R when possible)... he's on his own secret mission. Speaking of which... dose increase tonight. Also, I weighed him for the first time in a couple of months. He's down just a bit. I'm not concerned, but I'll keep an eye on it.

He's due for a checkup. I'm thinking about talking to the vet about Levemir (despite the huge Lantus stash in the fridge). @Wendy&Neko, what do you think? Time for a change? I could always switch back if it doesn't go well.

Yeah, I'm wondering what would happen with the antibodies. I suspect it depends on what part of the insulin they're targeting, and how different it is between Levemir and Lantus. I mostly just want to see if he'd stop bouncing. I can manage the low numbers in general, but the swan dives from the 300s drive me nuts. If the bouncing would ease up, maybe I could find a dose that kept him comfortably in blues or something.

I think my biggest concern is that the transition could get scary if it turns out the antibodies don't react to Levemir at all and I give him even a somewhat reduced dose as a transitional dose. I don't know how to gauge that in advance.

You don't have to wait six cycles to increase after a switch. Any strong reaction should happen in the first couple cycles. After that you can fast track.

Good to know. (Not doing it any time soon... finals week and holidays. January is pretty open, though, so that might be a good time to try it.)

To add to what I said above, my suggestion for fast tracking is for Lisa and Oberon only. Oberon has some special circumstances and I know that between Lisa and her DH, he is well monitored.
