12/3 Eddie AMPS 400 +3 378 +6 173 PMPS 254 +1 254 +3 104 +4 92 +5 113

It does look like a bounce. If it were me, I'd increase. Too long without seeing green. Of he was going to hit it, would have been yesterday sometime

Oh look at that blue!

I mean he's been seeing them nearly every cycle but I'm still glad to see them.

Haven't seen Wendy around lately hope she/family are all right

Ok I've been wracking my brain for these nighttime cycles.

If he's yellow at PMPS (or close to it) I'd start with a +1. It seems days he starts red/pink in AM but ends yellow he dives by PM +2/3, even if he was rising towards the end of the AM cycle. An earlier test may allow you to intervene with some LC to help slow a dive.

It also seems that increases start to work their "magic" on the 4th dose

Yes, that blue is so good to see! Doing PMPS in about 30 mins. Blue would be great but kind of expecting high yellow.
I met with the pituitary team from Washington State University this afternoon and had about an hour with them to discuss Eddie's spreadsheet, which they loved. I'll post their notes here a bit later.

I was thinking the same thing about Wendy as I recall her father had been hospitalized. I hope all's well.

I think our posts just crossed! Ok, if he's yellow or even high blue, I'll start with a +1 and check again @ +2. Then I can intervene as you say. I've been going to +3 rather than +2 because we (I can't recall who) decided that maybe he was dropping after the +2 at the +3. So, I'll try this with the new 8.5u. Today's the first day so let's see what magic we can conjure!

Yeah that used to be the case...until Eddie had a different idea the last two weeks

If the +1 is flat or drop, I'd feed some LC (I mean obviously if he's dropping like a rock you'll have to use your best guess as to what/how much to feed, Bhooma and Bron are usually around)

If +1 is boring, I'd still grab a +3 to check

But again, all this only if he's yellow or lower. If he's pink/red stick with your usual +3

I must be learning something. Wanted blue but thought it would be high yellow. It's mid-yellow so will, indeed, get a +1 and a +3.

I did not realize Eddie was a black cat! For some reason I thought he was a tabby. Handsome boy, though I'm a little biased towards black cats ;)

Glad to see that yellow, now hoping he can come down nice and slowly...

I hear you about black cats. I call it Black Cat Nation. But, actually, Eddie's brother, who also has acromegaly (had surgery & SRT) is a silver tabby. He's very, very chill. If Eddie is high calibre ninja, Blue is zen sumo.

So, I'll do a +1 and then a +3. Also, hoping for a slow descent. He also had his larger second meal (changed that to a PMPS time awhile back); but I'm ready with some +1 LC if necessary.

Hmm, dumb question...you haven't by chance changed pred dose or timing have you?
Hey, this is not dumb at all. As a matter of fact, quite astute. Up until Nov 29th, he was getting Prednisolone (1.25mg/once a day) in the morning. On the 29th, I inadvertently missed the morning so I gave it to him at night (PMPS time). And because I didn't want to double up (give again in 12 hours), I continued with Pred at night from November 29th - until now!!!!

What do you think??? What on earth made you ask that???

Hello @Bandit's Mom , hope all's well; just making contact with you given the new increase to 8.5u and Eddie's flat PMPS and +1. Will be doing a +3.
I gave Eddie his larger meal @ PMPS and also a little LC @ +1 with the flat yellow.

That's quite a drop, Jodey. I'm thinking you want to feed a little MC mixed with the LC and test at +4.

We want to avoid a reduction if possible by intervening with higher carbs.

I will come back to this later today don't let me forget lol busy day today

I asked because of the otherwise inexplicable change in his pattern...though the 29th doesn't explain all of it, since it's been about 2 weeks

I need to pore over spreadsheet to see how it's affecting things. Like we said before pred is what it is, you have to give it. But perhaps there's an ideal time that helps him stay flatter

Right now I suspect he's going lower at night because the pred has worn off and waiting for new dose to kick in

Aha! I'm onto your shenanigans Eddie!

So usually the +1 is higher because of food and waiting for onset (unless the cat has late nadir) - which is why I said earlier if it's flat to feed LC to help slow a drop. Even a flat +2 can indicate fun is coming.

So now I'm thinking if that happens again may need more intervention at +2 as well. So glad to see that green! Bounce coming I am sure

This really is interesting and potentially spread-sheet changing, if you know what I mean. How to determine when to give Pred. Last night we certainly had fun. Thanks for your detective work. Given what you've revealed, what do you think is the better time to give Pred?
