Good morning...

So he made a larger drop from amps to +2

Just fed a little LC to see if I can slow him down. I know he may stay yellow today anyway...

Should I test again in an hour or wait till +4 or wait till +5 right before work?

Ok...do we think he has slowed down enough that he wont keep going while I'm gone...I know typically he will rise after +6 but I also know anything can happen...he just drops so fast it seems it scares me

Get a +1 and +2.
I will definitely!

So I'm curious and this is why I am so fearful.

When I'm giving him the insulin at the higher numbers and he comes down to the blues that makes sense to me. If I give him the insulin at the lower numbers I'm worried he will try to drop as many points as when he starts off higher (sounds illogical I'm sure but to me its logical explanation)

It’s scary at first to see lower numbers. Remember though that normal bg is 50-100. You will need to get used to shooting lower and lower. When you shoot lower than you are used to one of us will guide you through the cycle until safe to stop testing. You will not be alone.

and you guys being there is the only thing keeping me sane! <3

Don't be nervous! Shoot low to stay low is our mantra here on the Lantus forum. Lantus is really really good at keeping lower numbers steady. Look at Ruby's SS earlier this year if you want to see how it works. I was superbly nervous shooting at lower numbers but then I started trusting the data I got and everyone's support and reassurance here and I now will give Ruby insulin anytime she is above 50. The more you can trust Lantus to work in this way, the more you can get Little Man's furry little body to get used to the lower numbers and stay there.

Thankyou katherine! <3

I'm so nervous melissa :nailbiting:

But so happy to have all of you!:bighug:
Ah you know what?? I had a sneaking suspicion you used ProZinc or Vetsulin first, checked your SS and voila!

I say this to everyone who switches (because I've used every insulin under the sun basically, and monitor both the Vetsulin and ProZinc forums) - wipe Vetsulin from your brain. Forget what it did, forget you ever used it. Lantus just does not work that way.

Congrats on shotting your first preshot below 150. You are doing great! Btw, he needs to drop below 50 to earn a reduction since you are following TR.
Like Elise said, normal range is 50-100 so he is still comfortably over normal.

He was only on Vetsulin a few days I think. DX 10/21.

He was only on it a very short time...the whole experience is just unnerving I think. But the fear of a hypo started with vetsulin...my vet just kept telling me how dangerous and to keep eye on him all the time...but never wanted me to test to find out what he actually was. So she put that fear in me from get go.

Ok +4 147...he is riding 140s it seems so guess we are done. I will take it I'm exhausted and compared to where his numbers have been I'll take the blues finally under renal threshold consistently!
